Publisher's summary

Anna never knew werewolves existed until the night she survived a violent attack…and became one herself. After three years at the bottom of the pack, she’d learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. But Anna is that rarest kind of werewolf: an Omega. And one of the most powerful werewolves in the country will recognize her value as a pack member—and as his mate.

I love the story of how Charles and Anna met so when my book club picked Cry Wolf as our next discussion I knew I had to start at the beginning! Even though this book is very short, I think it is very important to the story. We learn so much about how the packs are ran and about this world in general just from this story. Anna and Charles are my favorite characters in the whole "Mercy World" and I think part of that is because of this novella. Learning about Anna's past and about even a little about Charles helps to build these characters so much that watching them grow in the series is great.

Holter Graham is perfect for this series! I love the slow soft almost uninterested tone he gives to Bran and Charles!

REALLY good , but not alone.

To enjoy this series fully. you MUST read the Mercy Thompson series alongside this one, in order. Otherwise you will miss some really important info. It's a GREAT world, but needs to be read in order of the story. Check the author website or read Mercy first.

Excellent Story—just too short!

This book definitely leaves the reading wanting more! At the end I thought WHAT?!?
Definitely buying the rest of the series!

Definitely worth it even though it’s short

If this is your first foray into the world of Patricia Briggs then stop and go listen to the Mercy Thompson series first, at least the first few books.
For those that know the series, prepare for the voice talents pronunciation of Maraak to drive you nuts. Other than that it’s perfect. I’m hooked.

Awesome

Charles gets his mate all while putting a stop to a werewolf illegal practice that is morally and ethically appalling. Good story!

An insight to Anna before Charles.

Would you listen to Alpha and Omega again? Why?

Absolutely. I purchased the first book of the series on a whim and fell in love with it! I love how the imagery of the words and the cleverness of the narration made me feel as I followed the storyline. This will definitely be a second and third listen.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Alpha and Omega?

Charles protecting Anna for the first time. You see it all the time in the series, but to "see" the first time is kinda fun.

Have you listened to any of Holter Graham’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've only listened to Holter Graham's performances in the same series. I like how consistent he stays with the voices.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Brother Wolf rests his head on Anna's lap, protecting her, even though he is wounded. Also, when Anna prooves she is not just a damsel in distress by saving Charles (and Brother Wolf) from a fatal silver bullet.

Any additional comments?

Definitely worth the listen if you are going to get into this series.

Excellent Book and Audio

Where does Alpha and Omega rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one of my favorite audiobooks.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the characters of Charles and Anna. Seeing their relationship develop as they deal with the pack was very enjoyable.

Which scene was your favorite?

I think my favorite scene was either the one at the Greek restaurant or after they go back to the apartment after the restaurant and Charles is in wolf form to try to heal the bullet wound.

Excellent series

Patricia Briggs writes an excellent series. I really enjoy both series - Charles and Anna and Mercy Thompson. Wonderful alternate reality where werewolves, fey and vampires exist in today's reality. Alpha and Omega is the short story of Charles and Anna's beginning. Can't wait for the next installment.
