Three little words are all it takes to rip his world apart. Lost in his own affliction, Sy has been living in a darkness he doesn't want to let go of - until she arrives and shines her light so bright that nothing else mattered.
She was only in it for the chase, for the thrill of capturing the unattainable. But what happens when her world shatters around her, spiraling her into the darkness beside him?
Can his affliction be her resurrection? Or will two lost souls living in the depths of deception let it destroy them?

I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
Well, this was a roller coaster for your emotions because the sexy as sin, tattooed bad boy Biker Sy was moody, broody and downright unfriendly but that was just a hard shell covering up a lot of heartache, torturous memories and gut-wrenching pain. But somehow, despite Sy's resolve never to get emotionally attached to anyone again, the mutual attraction and magnetic chemistry that was always present between the beautiful, feisty and flirty Holly managed to ignite into a couple of raw Alpha sex scenes..... which, unknown to them, was going to cause more heartache, grief and a lot of tears.
The first part of the story runs parallel to book 1 where Holly (and Kadence) ends up getting kidnapped and shot which leaves her traumatised, numb, grieving and having panic attacks. But through it all Sy was there willing to help her because he saw the same darkness and hollowness in her, as she tried to put on a brave face, that was buried deep within him too and he needed to take it away.... for her sake and his. But, for three months she pushed him away all the while keeping a heartbreaking secret from him. So when they finally rekindled, reconnected and reawakened the lust Sy was all in committed to their relationship but Holly was afraid, guilty and ashamed of the secret she still kept from him. And, when Sy finally opened up and told her why he was getting terrible nightmares sharing his heartbreaking past she knew she just couldn't add to his grief. However, as we all know from these books, secrets always come out and it's just a matter of how much damage they cause along the way but when someone is threatening Holly's life once again the anger and pain Sy is feeling towards her is outweighed by the need to protect his woman.
Their raw yet tender romance (or should I say Biker claiming) is mixed up with heartache, pain, despair and loss but there's also a passion and deep love that is forged through it all as they both come through Hell holding each other's hands. There's the usual Biker talk, dirty talk, plenty of angst between the H/H, lots of hot sex scenes, a few funny scenes and drama from a bitter dangerous husband looking for the wife he's just broken and physically abused. Nix and Kadence are also present for many scenes as their story progresses very nicely and some of the other members of the MC are involved in the storyline too - as well as a nasty Club Ho who tries to cause trouble. However, this isn't a nasty Biker MC Club but rather one that's trying to clean up their act.
Worth a credit? This was an emotionally hard listen.... I don't want to give spoilers but I have to give this WARNING that it deals with the heartbreaking anguish and ultimate death of a little girl who tried to fight the ravages of Leukaemia and what effects her untimely death ultimately has on a family. But despite this, this is a good but raw story about two emotionally broken people who, despite all their heartbreaking hang-ups, get another chance to find peace, love and hope in their lives. Dual POV's, good narration and a hard hitting creditworthy listen.
I really liked this novel. There is nothing that touches me more than a loving, selfless father. I admit, I shed a few tears several times, during this story. I think this book has been my favorite, so far, in this series. I only wish the book was longer so I could share in the completion of this family. I always prefer longer novels because it allows you to be able to spend more experiences with the characters.
The narration wasn't bad, however, some of the voices sound unnatural. That being said, it's got to be very challenging for one person to construct so many voices, in order to speak for all the different characters; I know I couldn't pull it off.
I sure hope that Sy and Holly's story is completed in another book in the series.

I really liked this one. It was an emotional ride but well worth it. I loved both Sy and Holly. their journey together was beautiful. I also like that I go to see a continuation of Kadence and Nix's story. Definitely recommend not only the book but the entire series
I would've loved this book had I READ it and not listened. The guy narrating "Silas" sounded depressed. I was listening at my desk and burst out laughing at his speech my co-workers thought I was having an "episode". As my title says GOOD book, BAD NARRATIONS!
I'm really enjoying this series. I love the writing and the audiobook has wonderful narrators.
There are so many things going on with the Knights Rebels and each book focuses on one main story line.
Affliction is Sy and Holly's story.
"His dark looks and inked skin were what drew me in, his bad boy attitude was what made me stay."
Sy is the "bad boy" who doesn't let on that he is haunted by a painful past. Holly can't fight her attraction to Sy, but tries to keep him at a distance while keeping her secrets.
