Publisher's summary

Eleven thousand years ago a god was born. Cursed into the body of a human, Acheron spent a lifetime of shame. His human death unleashed an unspeakable horror that almost destroyed the earth. Brought back against his will, he became the sole defender of mankind.

Only it was never that simple. For centuries, he has fought for our survival and hidden a past he never wants revealed - until a lone woman who refuses to be intimidated by him threatens his very existence.

Now his survival, and ours, hinges on hers, and old enemies reawaken and unite to kill them both. War has never been more deadly...or more fun.

Love in vein: listen to another Dark-Hunter novel.

Awesome as always

Yet again Sherilyn has managed to tie her books of the Dark Hunters all together. Now that I have read Acheron I am going back to the 1st book to start all over again.

I cried, laughed and my heart sang

Never read anything by Sherrilyn Kenyon before, so since this was the only available audible by her in this country I thought it would be good to listen to see if her books would be any good, and I absolutely loved it! I totally recommend buying this book. It’s long, however worth the extra hours, I cried, laughed and my heart sang. I continue to listen to my favourite parts of the book even though I have heard it over and over again. I have even got the book to add to my library. 5 stars

Acheron

The best book of the Dark Hunter Series.

I liked the narrator, but a couple voices were totally different from what I expected.

Love and Hate

What did you like best about this story?

It draws you in and makes you so so sad but then your so happy. Tears of sadness and tears of joy. Yes I admit this book made me cry, not ashamed to admit it.

What about Holter Graham’s performance did you like?

He is the my favorite reader in this serise.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

An Acheron quote "Everyone deserves to be loved"

Any additional comments?

I just loved it.

phenomenal

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this book. I first read it years ago. I have listened to it about 4 times. This is my most favorite book of all time. I want to get a tattoo but don't know which quote to use. thinking of "just because you can, doesn't mean you should"
I love the writing, the emotion, humor, pain, sorrow, love, and it is only made better by the amazing narration. if there is only one book I could bring with me on a deserted island, it is this one!

Saddest and greatest of the series

If you could sum up Acheron in three words, what would they be?

BEST NONE YET!!!

What did you like best about this story?

I was awestruck at the complexity of the story and how it was such a thorough background on Acheron's beginning. After so much pain and suffering (I cried through much of the narration of it) a deeper understanding of him, the tragedy of his existence, his birth and his life was exactly what we needed after so many hints throughout the series. Sherrilynn Kenyon was brilliant in giving us everything we needed to know about Ash and in such a way as to endear us more to him than ever before. And yes, dislike of Artemis will turn to hate. There is no way to explain the greatness of this story without revealing too much,. No I did not read the book and it was probably very well written but to really experience the depth of emotion and the tragic beginning of Acheron's life and why he endures the humiliation Artemis heaps on him must be heard. You will not be disappointed.

What does Holter Graham bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The emotion that was placed into it by Holter Graham was what made the experience so great, it was heart wrenching just to listen to the agony of a young Acheron as he suffered at the hands of family and those he thought loved him.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES!!

Any additional comments?

This was by far the best in a great series. I would listen to it again but I have to wait to get past much of the emotion it evoked in me. It was deeply sad and thankfully had some light and even funny moments which the listener needed. This was Sherrilynn Kenyon at her best and Holter Graham was the only one that could have narrated it; the way he allowed the listener to feel the pain, sorrow, anguish and betrayal as well as the love that the characters showed allows the listener to feel as if they are a spectator in this story.
