Publisher's summary

Eleven thousand years ago a god was born. Cursed into the body of a human, Acheron spent a lifetime of shame. His human death unleashed an unspeakable horror that almost destroyed the earth. Brought back against his will, he became the sole defender of mankind.

Only it was never that simple. For centuries, he has fought for our survival and hidden a past he never wants revealed - until a lone woman who refuses to be intimidated by him threatens his very existence.

Now his survival, and ours, hinges on hers, and old enemies reawaken and unite to kill them both. War has never been more deadly...or more fun.

Love in vein: listen to another Dark-Hunter novel.

My favorite

Love Acheron , I have his sun and three lightening bolts striking the middle with . “ Just because you can doesn’t mean you should” . Written around it tattooed on my arm.

Most Amazing Book I've Read

I absolutely loved this book, the visionable scenes in the book were so described that I felt that I was actually visualizing it like a movie.

Not what I expected.

Save yourself from boredom by skipping most of the chapters in Part 1 due to the repetitive nature of the chapters. One can get by reading the first couple of chapters and last couple of chapters of Part 1.

Part 2, while better, still didn’t live up to the expectations of who Acheron is and how he is portrayed in the earlier Dark Hunter books.

I love Ash as an antihero type of character, however this book portrays him in a totally different way and not at all congruent with his persona of earlier books in the series.

I’ve read (and listened) to this book twice and can only give it a Meh!😑

One of the best in the series

This is by far, the best book in the series. So many questions answered and the characters really come to life. I enjoyed it a great deal.

Satisfying, but with a few flaws.

Acheron gets his HEA, and basically that is what all of us DarkHunter fans have been wanting for a long time. Unfortunately, Kenyon takes more than half of the book and devotes it to excruciating details of Ash's past. And, oh do I mean excruciating. If you don't like pain, don't read or listen to this book. It was hard to take sometimes, but it does explain what and why Acheron is. As for the narration, Holter did wonderfully, but I was thrown off by him pronouncing Ash's name as Asheron instead of Akeron as he did in Devil May Cry. Also, the Gallu demon who was the bad guy in DMC didn't have an accent in Acheron. The only thing I truly didn't like was that so many characters were repeatedly and unneccesarily stupid and/or cruel. It was kind of like Kenyon didn't think we'd get it, so she decided to bludgeon us over the head repeatedly that Ash had a horrible life.

Wow!

I have to say, this was everything I hoped for. I haven't had a book move me to tears and laughter in a year or two. I hope the Dark Hunter series keeps going. Holter Graham has the perfect voice for this series. Him plus the plot kept me with my earphones in for a few days!

Keep these books coming

Sherrilynn Kenyon is a master story teller. The characters created by Ms. Kenyon become old friends. I didn't want the book to end.

Ash Rocks!

I love paranormal romance books. I've listened to about 20 books this year and Acheron is one of the best! It kept me paying attention every minute!

Acheron- Long but well worth it

This book was really two different stories as you get the history of Acheron's life and then it jumps to the present to finish. Keyon did a wonderful job of portraying the terrible abuse Acheron lived through as a child and young adult. She did it tastefully and did not get to graphic on many of the more terrible points but let you know what had happened. This book is a must have for any reader's list.
