Publisher's summary

Eleven thousand years ago a god was born. Cursed into the body of a human, Acheron spent a lifetime of shame. His human death unleashed an unspeakable horror that almost destroyed the earth. Brought back against his will, he became the sole defender of mankind.

Only it was never that simple. For centuries, he has fought for our survival and hidden a past he never wants revealed - until a lone woman who refuses to be intimidated by him threatens his very existence.

Now his survival, and ours, hinges on hers, and old enemies reawaken and unite to kill them both. War has never been more deadly...or more fun.

Love in vein: listen to another Dark-Hunter novel.

Very Satifying Listen

This was a very well written story, however having said that, the suffering that Acheron went through, thoughout the book became a little redundant ( enough is enough lets move on now). The narrator was excellent and keep you wanting to listen throughout the difficult story line. I am completly satified with Acheron's Happily Ever After. I do hope all books in the Dark Hunter Series become available in audio format. I hope Holter Graham continues to read for this series as he is amazing.

Spellbinding Narration!

I was immediately transported to Acheron's inner circle and caught up in his and Tory's tumultuous romance by the awesome storytelling of Holter Graham. All the characters were so authentic and the scenes so vivid that it was extremely difficult to make time for the mundane chores of real life. I greatly recommend this mesmerizing version of one of my all time favorite books!

heartfelt and unforgettable

The atrocities and triumphs of Acheron's life make him one of the greatest book heroes I have ever listened to. You can listen to this book as a standalone, but I promise you the search for what Acheron does with his life is never ending. I have listen to or read most of Sherrilyn Kenyon's books, in this relentless search. I have come to love, admire and sometimes hate most of the rich and vibrant characters in these books.

Still the best Dark Hunter - EVER!!!

If you could sum up Acheron in three words, what would they be?

Heartache, love, action

Who was your favorite character and why?

there are 3. Acheron - he has this past that could have made him bitter. He could have let the world be destroyed with the treatment he received, but he has compassion and he cares about other and he is more humane than most. And he is HAWT!!!
Tory - she is just - tory. She accepted Ash as is, she fell in love with him as he was - without knowing he was an all-powerful god of destruction. I love her love of life - and just her being her and her acceptance of people and the hope that there is good in all.
Simi - I ADORE HER TO BITS. Simi is my total fav character in all Dark-Hunter books she appears. She is quirky adorable and the way she is with Ash! the way she speaks about herself in the 3rd person - love it.

Which scene was your favorite?

There are too many.
The basketball match with the kids.
The Xbox game... laughed so hard!!!
When Tory and her friends so to the sex shop.... That is so funny and it ends up that the owners knows Ash.
When Tory Kicked Artemis' goddess butt.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Apollymi found Acheron's lifeless body after Apollo killed him. The way she avenged him - what a mother would do for her child - and well Apollymi was the goddess of destruction..
The moment Ash experience tenderness and love with Tory - that just was crazy and it made me damn cried.

Any additional comments?

The abuse that Acheron has suffered broke my heart in so many ways. But after becoming a god with all these powers and after he died and was not vengeful and he had such a beautiful heart. He really wanted acceptance and peace. He was scared that others would find out about his past life. But Tory has come and given him his pride back.
PS I read this book about 10 times!! And this audiobook is awesome!!!

Hang in there

I absolutely hated the first 1/4 of the book. I found myself saying ok we get the picture!!! Acheron had a horrific and unspeakable childhood and literally brought me to tears. I skipped a few chapters and enjoyed present day portion of the book. I love this character and liked getting info on his background but could have done without the repetition of the cruel acts.

For the love of God, find someone who actually can pronounce the name properly!

This is so far my favorite book in the series, but the reader is just atrocious. If they could just get somebody who could actually pronounce the names properly it would be amazing. Go-SHAY NOT Go-te-ay!!!!

Yumm!

I love Kenyon's work. Always have and always will. In the past I have been more than a little disappointed by the clumsy, almost criminally bad narration used for some of her earlier titles. Now in walks Holter Graham and my long standing fancy for the dark, brooding and sexy Ash (Acheron) becomes a full blown crush! I absolutely adore this narrator and really loved the story. NEWBIES BEWARE- there are very strong tones of violence and sadistic childhood abuse in this and some other Kenyon titles. In Acheron's case it's fair to call this extreme and totally heart wrenching. There is also a healthy does of explicit sex. That said, all of the aforementioned ADULT content serves the plot impeccably and builds solid gold characters the reader can easily invest in. I literally wanted to throw my arms around some of these characters. Others I could get medieval on to stop their sadistic tendencies.
All in all- I loved the story and from now on will have a special place in my heart for a certain Nickleback song (wink wink).
