Publisher's summary

An angel with immense power and insatiable desire, Adrian Mitchell leads an elite Special Ops unit of the seraphim. His task is to punish the Fallen - angels who have become vampires - and command a restless pack of indentured lycans.

But Adrian has suffered his own punishment for becoming involved with mortals - losing the woman he loves again and again. Now, after nearly 200 years, he has found her: Shadoe, her soul once more inhabiting a new body that doesn’t remember him. This time he won’t let her go.

With no memory of her past as Shadoe, Lindsay Gibson knows only that she can’t help being fiercely attracted to the smoldering, seductive male who crosses her path. Swept into a dangerous world of tumultuous passion and preternatural conflict, Lindsay is soon caught between her angel lover, her vampire father, and a full-blown lycan revolt. There’s more at stake than her love and her life - she could lose her very soul....

Critic reviews

"Explodes with passion and heat. A hot, sexy angel to die for and a gutsy heroine make for one exciting read." ( New York Times best-selling author Cheyenne McCray)
"Sylvia Day spins a gorgeous adventure that combines gritty, exciting storytelling with soaring lyricism. Adrian is my favorite kind of hero - an alpha-male angel determined to win the heart of his heroine, Lindsay, while protecting her from his lethal enemy.... This is definitely a book for your keeper shelf." ( New York Times best-selling author Angela Knight)

A lot to keep up with!

First, I want to mention that the narration is awesome, Luke Danials is very talented.
As far as the plot, there are many types of characters with many different characteristics. At first I was lost but the story finally sorted my confusion, as it progressed. It is definitely an unique paranormal story and I’m excited to see it through to it’s completion.
Be aware, this is a trilogy, so there is only a partial resolution you the end of book one. You will have to complete the trilogy to know the complete resolution of all the conflicts.
This book has tweeted enough of my interest to move to book two and likely book three, when it is released.

spoilers

** spoiler alert ** After reading the Crossfire series I had high hopes for this book...
while the story was good I just found it lacking details. It could have been so much better and I think seeing the potential in it ruined what was actually there.

For the most part its a good book, but it's not something that I'll be continuing on with. It didn't keep my attention and there really isn't anything significant that happens as far as action, or even romance. A few small trysts in the bedroom and mentions of fights, but where are the details?
For all the talk about Adrian being a hunter and always in the field there was no action. If he is SO worried about them changing her over, why didn't he try to get there to stop it instead of wondering if it happened and a few weeks later the enemy just drops her off at the doorstep no questions asked?! Why did Shadoe just give up in the end without a fight after holding on for centuries?
It just didn't work for me, but that's not to say that it doesn't appeal to other people - I just prefer lots of action in my books!

Loved It

A little bit of a 'slow starter" but it got rolling in a few chapters. Very neat twist to the Angel, Vamp, Lycan stuff I normally read. I really loved this book and find it is worth far more than $7. Spend your money here, save your credit for those nineteen and over twenty dollar books, LOL. I cant wait for more of the series, I devoured this one in 3 nights, tried really hard to make it 2 nights but I did have to have a little bit of sleep. Very steamy romance and a very good story to it. You wont be disappointed.
Narration was hard to get used to at first, but I soon got used to it and really missed it in the 2nd book.

Loved it

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, and have. I liked the characters and the inner emotional battles going on.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Touch of Crimson?

Lindsey's transformation.

Did Luke Daniels do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Oh yes, I really love his voice, each character was easy to tell apart. Each one had a life due to his voice. I really enjoyed Eddy Lindsey's dad. Every time I found myself smiling. I am more likely to buy a book read by Luke Daniels.
He was so easy to listen to and that voice was like honey pouring over you the whole time.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed a few times. But, no tears.

Any additional comments?

I liked it so much I am looking for the rest in the set.

Interesting world, but read badly!

I really like Sylvia Day's Crossfire series, so I wanted to see what she could do with a bit of the paranormal. The story itself is interesting but the narration is HORRIBLE. The guy sounds like "the agent" from the The Matrix and it's not too fun to be listening to a steamy scene with THAT voice....very bad pick there audio studio!

The world is very complex, it has angels and demons and vampires, and somehow they are all related, but yet hunt each other, but only certain angels hunt certain vampires and so on...it's very complex like I said. The steamy scenes tried to be steamy, but once again THAT voice...*shudder*.

I'll get the next one, just hope it has a different narrator.

Good story poor narrative

Loved the story but the narration left something to be desired. Character voices were great but the "in between" narrative was drab and monotone.
