    "Unsure"

I am unsure about this series; I'd looked forward to the opportunity of getting to know more about the main character & the few other (regularly) supporting characters. However, this tale seemed more frenetic & disjointed - almost as if the author was unsure where to take the story & even more so, unclear as to which characters should have more supporting roles. As stories (and characters) go, there isn't a lot or consistency or depth yet again, I started this series because I was looking for something that wasn't too heavy & offered a bit of amusement. I'm unsure the series has the potential for the long term commitment I was looking for & others reviews are mixed. Therefore, I'm going to take a bit of a hiatus, check out another of this author's series & decide then whether or not I'll complete this one.

Great story, however I was still left with a thought of what Knight ( Lochi) is? She never explained what type of creature he was. Regardless, the story ended great, made me wanting more.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I really honestly love H.P. Mallory's books. The story lines are fun and the characters are not two dimensional. The only character that is rather annoying is.... yep, Dulcie. She's a hot head, we get that, but she never allows anyone else to have an opinion, she's way to quick to assume that all any man wants is a piece of her tush, and yep again, she's way too full of herself and her stunning looks. Let her have a few flaws. It would make her more likable. (the being ridiculously cocky flaw isn't lovable)

    Any additional comments?

Terese Plummer is excellent at her job. Hang on to her, H.P.!

In my opinion, a good story evokes emotion. It'll make me laugh, angry, or cry. But it can't just be words on a page. It has to do something

    "Great follow-up. Interesting characters"

Pretty terrific follow-up to the beginning. Some dead time in the middle of the book. By dead time I mean I could tell the author padded the book a bit to drag out the story, but I suffered thru that to see what would happen with the guys. The characters are interesting enough to keep me tuned in. The end was surprising enough to make me rush to buy book 3. Not quite what I thought would happen by the end of the book. Thumbs up for non-predictability.

What made the experience of listening to A Tale of Two Goblins the most enjoyable?

I like the storyline of the whole series.

What did you like best about this story?

Vander is my favorite in the series. Wasn't sure about Bram, but he is growing on me.

    Any additional comments?

A very enjoyable series that makes you wish you could dive right in to the next book in the series.

"Good Idea, Great Characters. STILL HORRIBLE"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

No idea... Preteens... Same level of emotional growth and has a Fairy

What could H. P. Mallory have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Not tried to write a easy to see through mystery. Only makes her dis-believable Main Female Character more annoying and weak. Dulice is the weakest and least need character in the series. Trying to portray her as important or even relevant to the flow of the story makes the plot have to stretch to keep up with the idiot decisions the Author makes her do. In short, If H.P. Mallory wrote about a subject she could express believably and kept the current cast of characters and world, but found a new Main Female character and NO CRIME FIGHTING. Then I say she be an incredible storyteller. But after suffering thru two of her books. I refuse to put myself thru the third or another Dulcie O'Neil future train wrecks.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Really just the story harmed any listening to the Narrator and she occasionally get a few of the male supporting characters voices mixed up with each other for a short scene.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

The World and Concept. But her Main character focus like a 12 years old Nancy Drew wannabe prevented the Author from shining much light on the Why and Hows of the portrayed Netherlands World and how it dealt with the Real world. For an Investigator she DOES NO research on the creatures or planes that her job dealt with.

    Any additional comments?

The Main Female character had the focus and emotional awareness of a 12 years old Nancy Drew wannabe. This prevented the Author from shining much light on the Why and Hows of the portrayed Netherlands World and how it dealt with the Real world in her novels. Plus for Dulcie to be an Police Investigator, but she DOES NO research on the creatures or planes they delve from, which seems like part of her job. So the constant moments of surprise for the character to wonder why she can not help her friends, gets very old when you have to hold back screaming at the imaginary character what to do. Reminded me of watching a Preschooler yell back answers to a TV puppet or cartoon

    "Well worth a listen"

I really enjoyed this book. The story is well paced and funny. The narrator is good apart from the fact that she can't do accents. For example, Bram who is supposed to have an English accent sounds as American as all the other characters.
