Publisher's summary

That hot guy tied to Lissianna Argeneau's bed? He's not dessert - he's the main course! Lissianna has been spending her centuries pining for Mr. Right, not just a quick snack, and this sexy guy she finds in her bed looks like he might be a candidate.

But there's another, more pressing issue: her tendency to faint at the sight of blood . . . an especially annoying quirk for a vampire. Of course it doesn't hurt that this man has a delicious-looking neck. What kind of cold-blooded vampire woman could resist a bite of that?

Dr. Gregory Hewitt recovers from the shock of waking up in a stranger's bedroom pretty quickly - once he sees a gorgeous woman about to treat him to a wild night of passion. But is it possible for the good doctor to find true love with a vampire vixen, or will he be just a good meal? That's a question Dr. Greg might be willing to sink his teeth into . . . if he can just get Lissianna to bite.

Bubble bath for the soul! (NSFW BTW)

Wife's read this book many times and she enjoyed logarithmic too it. She said the voice was a little too hot & heavy for a rom com though!

Great book but narrative was robotic

I love the book but the narration was so robotic that it was almost painful. It legit sounds like Siri reading the great book. Story was amazing though! Lynsay Sands is a great author.

not bad

not a bad book if you can get through the first half. the performance is lack lusted. By the end of the book the story and the performance improve. it is the firat in a series; those tend to be a little slow to start.

Couldn’t Even Get Through Chapter 1

I can’t fairly rate the overall story because the narrator is so bad I couldn’t listen anymore. I am sure she is a wonderful person and maybe she can do sleep meditation books, but wow, not this type of book. I think she might have been trying to read in her “sexy voice” or something, no emotion, no inflection in her voice, no changes in character voices. I completely wasted a credit on this.

Eh

The narrator was great for some of the voices but was soooo monotone for three rest of it I didn’t dare listen in the car. The story was pretty good but I can tell it’s part of a series.

Great story, Narrator was painful

Cute story, but it was hard to get through with the narrator. She was very monotone and dry mouthed.

A Quick Bite

The story was great but the reader was horrible. Hopefully the remaining audiobooks will have a better reader.

Light romance with a little bit of vampire

There are a lot "paranormal romances" nowadays. Some are oriented towards more action, mythology, mystery and fantasy and there are those firmly on the romance side with just a touch of the paranormal. I have to say this series is definitely for the fan of romance and not of urban fantasy. I like the series. They are light, funny and nice cozy reading. What sets this series apart from the other similarly premised books are the likable vampire family members and the total quirky comedic moments. This first book, not as much but the I think the 2nd to the 4th books were laugh out loud funny at some parts. Anyway it was nice to re-read the book as an audiobook.

Loved it and the narrator!

I read how many reviewers disliked Victoria McGee's narration, and I do understand their feelings. But I really enjoyed her vocal qualities and her interpretation because I found it unique and smooth and lovely to listen to.

I'm very glad I read the one reviewer who recommended to listen to this book first before the rest of the series because it seemed to introduce the characters.

I also really enjoyed this book. I found the author's world of humans from Antlantis with nanos particularly fascinating and wonderfully different from any of the many vampire books I've recently become addicted to. What is that? I admit to having a guilty pleasure of all these vampire books and hopefully, soon, I'll have enough of them and move on to something else! They are like potato chips.

Total cheesiness, in a B movie sort of way

First let me address the narrator issue and editing...there were LONG pauses and editing problems and the narrator sounded like she was trying out for a 1-900 number...I really didn't care for hearing her swallow either and the mock sultry was too over the top for me.

Having said all that the plot reminded me of a horrible/great classic B movie. The entire plot was predictable but when thy call themselves out on their own stupidity the characters became lovable and laughable rather than mediocre and stupid. It's a fine line but this book walked it well. The cousin Thomas was my favorite, his character delights in making others feel uncomfortable....for example when you hug the 600 year old posh and polished vampire and go into teenager mode just to rile the old guy and make him uncomfortable...well that's just funny!

There were many moments like that and it made for an enjoyable book...not a literary classic, but enjoyable nonetheless! I will be looking for book two!
