Publisher's summary

That hot guy tied to Lissianna Argeneau's bed? He's not dessert - he's the main course! Lissianna has been spending her centuries pining for Mr. Right, not just a quick snack, and this sexy guy she finds in her bed looks like he might be a candidate.

But there's another, more pressing issue: her tendency to faint at the sight of blood . . . an especially annoying quirk for a vampire. Of course it doesn't hurt that this man has a delicious-looking neck. What kind of cold-blooded vampire woman could resist a bite of that?

Dr. Gregory Hewitt recovers from the shock of waking up in a stranger's bedroom pretty quickly - once he sees a gorgeous woman about to treat him to a wild night of passion. But is it possible for the good doctor to find true love with a vampire vixen, or will he be just a good meal? That's a question Dr. Greg might be willing to sink his teeth into . . . if he can just get Lissianna to bite.

Thank goodness for Whispersync!

I really enjoyed this story. Lynsay Sands knows how to pace the story to really make it a fun ride. However, when the narration is the metaphorical equivalence of "nails on a chalkboard" during the ride, it become much less enjoyable.

So much so that I couldn't finish the book by listening to it. I ended up downloading a digital copy and reading the last two-thirds. I really, really, really, hope that Audible will go back and have one of the other amazing readers in this series re-read this book. The main reason being that if they don't many people maybe turned off the series.

Terrible narrator!

How did the narrator detract from the book?

She had no character differentiation, sounded bored, had very strange phrasing and inflection, and mispronounced words and names. It almost painful listening to her. If I hadn't already purchased 3 more books in the series, I would have returned this one and bought no more. Sadly, I notice that McGee narrates other books in the series. I will not buy those or any other book this incompetent narrates.

Any additional comments?

This is an entirely different and delightful take on vampires. The premise is fascinating, opening up all sorts of wonderful possibilities in storylines. Wish I could see well enough to read all of the books, but I won't bother with those narrated by Ms. McGee.

Great book but narrative was robotic

I love the book but the narration was so robotic that it was almost painful. It legit sounds like Siri reading the great book. Story was amazing though! Lynsay Sands is a great author.

not bad

not a bad book if you can get through the first half. the performance is lack lusted. By the end of the book the story and the performance improve. it is the firat in a series; those tend to be a little slow to start.

Couldn’t Even Get Through Chapter 1

I can’t fairly rate the overall story because the narrator is so bad I couldn’t listen anymore. I am sure she is a wonderful person and maybe she can do sleep meditation books, but wow, not this type of book. I think she might have been trying to read in her “sexy voice” or something, no emotion, no inflection in her voice, no changes in character voices. I completely wasted a credit on this.

Eh

The narrator was great for some of the voices but was soooo monotone for three rest of it I didn’t dare listen in the car. The story was pretty good but I can tell it’s part of a series.

Great story, Narrator was painful

Cute story, but it was hard to get through with the narrator. She was very monotone and dry mouthed.

A Quick Bite

The story was great but the reader was horrible. Hopefully the remaining audiobooks will have a better reader.
