Publisher's summary

That hot guy tied to Lissianna Argeneau's bed? He's not dessert - he's the main course! Lissianna has been spending her centuries pining for Mr. Right, not just a quick snack, and this sexy guy she finds in her bed looks like he might be a candidate.

But there's another, more pressing issue: her tendency to faint at the sight of blood . . . an especially annoying quirk for a vampire. Of course it doesn't hurt that this man has a delicious-looking neck. What kind of cold-blooded vampire woman could resist a bite of that?

Dr. Gregory Hewitt recovers from the shock of waking up in a stranger's bedroom pretty quickly - once he sees a gorgeous woman about to treat him to a wild night of passion. But is it possible for the good doctor to find true love with a vampire vixen, or will he be just a good meal? That's a question Dr. Greg might be willing to sink his teeth into . . . if he can just get Lissianna to bite.

I really tried.

I usually try to ignore any comments others leave about a narrator. I've found that if I let go of other opinions I don't usually have the same issues that they do. Not the case here. I really couldn't let myself go and really get into the story. I think Victoria McGee might be better suited at reading announcements over an airport loud speaker. Her voice is extremely dull like she herself isn't enjoying the story. I found myself getting very irritated at her portrayal of the characters voices. Her inflections and pauses are in the wrong part of the sentence entirely too often. It's all so distracting and annoying that it's hard to enjoy the story at all. Thankfully I had already read this book and the next two and only bought the audio version so I could refresh my memory before I continue with the rest of the books. I just learned that she also narrates books 5, 7 and 9 so I am trying to decide if it will be worth it to continue with this series in audio format.

Can't understand the hate for the narrator!

Any additional comments?

Sure... She (the narrator) has somewhat of a phone sex line voice (all sultry sounding, deep and husky) but it didn't take me long to enjoy her reading. Her characterisations and accents were excellent. This is my first Lynsay Sands audio or otherwise and I liked the quirky and fun characters and the (not your usual vampire story) story with a nice slow burning romance. Enjoyable.

A Quick Bite by Lynsay Sands

Terrific. First time reader of this type book. Great fun, look forward to more books. Reader is ok, but not my favorite.

Enchanting story

The narrator did a good job of breathing life into various characters of this intriguing tale. I was hooked from the very beginning and completely captivated until the very end. I can't wait to read more of this series.

this book is the hardest for me to listen to because of the breathy reading style but it is worth fighting through for this piece of the story

To monotone

There was no feeling of anticipation in the whole book. Tough to get through. Hum!

As great as I remembered

If you could sum up A Quick Bite in three words, what would they be?

Well worth a listen, oops more than three words, LOL.

What did you like best about this story?

I read it years ago, listening to it on audio was great. I loved it then and I love it now. I like the spin on the vampire story.

Which scene was your favorite?

I love all the funny scenes when all the cousins get together.

Any additional comments?

It has a little "tame but steamy" sex that is not offensive but more romantic. In my opinion its worth your credit.

A Fun Read

I bought this audiobook for a "beach" book - one you could listen to at the beach and put down when you like. Therein lies the problem - it was not easy to put down. The reader is led through the trials and tribulations of the characters to the inevitable conclusiom. I would love to follow the characters through their future together. So, I'm ready for Book 2!

Please lord give that woman a glass of water!

I do love this series! I have them all in book format and have been randomly adding the audible versions. I don't usually check the reviews as I already know I love them but wow did I make a mistake with this one. She has these awful pauses and in between each word/sentence you can here her mouth make like the dry mouth sound. No more books narrated by her for me I'm afraid.

What's worse is that I usually listen to my audible books over and over when I am driving or just need some white noise...this book will never be listened to again, once was one time to many. What a waste of a credit and such a disservice to a great book!

Horrrrible narrator

This a good story and I would have enjoyed it more if the narrator wouldn't have been so ridiculous sounding. I'm dreading listening to her do a hack job on the other books in the series that she narrates
