Still one of my favorites

I read this yeeeears ago. Still one of my all time favorites, in my favorite series!
At first I REALLY hated the narrator.. but he kinda somewhat.. grew on me? lol Most of his female voices are godawful, but his male voices are just *chef kiss*
This definitely needs some trigger warnings (as some other reviewers have mentioned) this does feature some dubious consent in the first half of the book. Which might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I loved it 🤷🏻‍♀️ Kresley Cole is an amazing author! I'm so glad she's back to writing again. I look forward to listening through the rest of her series on audible once I finish Munro!

I have listened to this series like 10+ times. Never gets old. Seriously you need to binge this whole series over and over. You won’t regret it!

This has been one of my favorite series and I was so excited when I saw it on audible. I hope she will be adding all the books in the series to audible soon. The narrator did a great job he sounded exactly how I pictured he would. Please don"t make us wait too long for the next book Kaderin's story is so good and so is Mariketa's and well I haven't read a Kresley cole book that wasn't kicka**.

Great Book Great Narrator

Now THIS is paranormal romance! Action, drama, suspense, wit and more intriguing supernatural beings than we can shake a broomstick at coalesce into one of the best paranormal romances ever. This is an amazing intro into a very promising series, one with plenty of well-rounded secondary characters to carry on what begins here. Lachlain is at once a rough, anti-hero alpha and achingly caring and sexy. He's very complex given the nature of his last several centuries and he couldn't be better complimented by Emma's sweet, yet not-so-biddable nature. She's weak in the beginning, yes, but morphs into a powerful, kick butt type the longer she interacts with our hero. She's smart, witty and possesses a timeless grace that others around her can only dream of possessing. Her family of Valkyries is very intriguing and I'm glad to see Cole keeping their stories coming as well. This is a very fresh, very consuming addition to the world of paranormal romance. Very much worth as many rereads as the book itself can handle. It's on to the second in the series next, No Rest for the Wicked and the third, Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night.
Robert Petkoff is one of the best narrator I have listened too. He made a really good book great.

I love this book. I had already read it but wanted to hear the audio. This book is hot. Robert Petkoff did such a great job. Can't wait for the rest.

Racy and a great story!

I just loved this. I wasn't sure I would, but it kept me interested and wanting to know what happened next. Robert Petkoff is perfect for this series!!

Wowsers... Robert Petkoff narrates brilliantly! His characterisations are distinct and personal, his accents are excellent (no Scottish turning Indian here(or is that just mine:-)) and his inflection, especially during intense moments is extremely captivating, engaging and... Well.... HOT!
I feel like I'm listening to a secret intimate recording (at (those HOT) times) or a play rather than a reading. Superb.
As for the story, it was quite good although a little long and drawn out for my taste (and ADHD) I liked the intensity of the building relationship between Emma and Lachlan and the good amount of action and intrigue within the not so usual vampire/werewolf/valkyrie back story. Looking forward to reading more.

Hang in there

The first third of the book I was pretty irritated at a few of the characters...but as the story went on I saw why it began the way it had and eventually I really ended up enjoying the book. Hang in there if u feel the same way, the rest of the story makes up for it. Plus is sexy as hell 😉🔥

I'm Hooked!

I've been looking for a new series after finishing the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Karen Marie Moning's Highlanders and Fever series, and Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series. I think this series is going to compete without much effort. The story line is captivating, the sex is hot, and the characters attach themselves to you. For days after finishing the book I remembered some of the scenes and secretly relived their vivid accounting. It will remain on my list of books to revisit again and again in the future.
