A mythic warrior who'll stop at nothing to possess her....
After enduring years of torture from the vampire horde, Lachlain MacRieve, leader of the Lykae Clan, is enraged to find the predestined mate he's waited millennia for is a vampire. Or partly one. This Emmaline is a small, ethereal half Valkyrie/half vampire, who somehow begins to soothe the fury burning within him.
A vampire captured by her wildest fantasy....
Sheltered Emmaline Troy finally sets out to uncover the truth about her deceased parents - until a powerful Lykae claims her as his mate and forces her back to his ancestral Scottish castle. There, her fear of the Lykae - and their notorious dark desires - ebbs as he begins a slow, wicked seduction to sate her own dark cravings.
An all-consuming desire....
Yet when an ancient evil from her past resurfaces, will their desire deepen into a love that can bring a proud warrior to his knees and turn a gentle beauty into the fighter she was born to be?

"A unique romance - it truly stands on its own!" (Sherrilyn Kenyon, New York Times bestselling author)
The best part was the sensuality of the characters being drive to one another it's a nice classic love story, the problem is there is nothing riveting holding me to explore anymore of the series.
I think i'll look else where for my vampire lore.
none really it was quite pedestrian.
A better plot
While the whole book is @ 12 hours, it is very intersted and worth a second run.
Awesome story! Lachlain was very sexy and everything you from a Lykae Clan. Emmaline was adorable! I laugh through most of the book and could not put it down. Once you start reading, you are completely focused on figuring out how the story is going to end. This is my first Kresley Cole book. After reading this one, I am interested in trying more
No I Like the audio version better, Robert Petkoff is perfect!!!!
Trust & Love
I love the entire book but when Emma runs in Locklands arms.
Wow the whole book did Kresley Cole is on her game with this Series cant wait for additional books to become Audio I have the entire series I Book but i really enjoy the Narrator he is perfect.
Narrator does a fantastic job relating the story! Even his female voices are believable (which is my usual issue with audiobooks). Petkoff's Scottish burr is absolutely delectable :)
This was a sexy vampire thriller that compared well to any other I have listened to. It got me through a bad case of the flu while stuck in bed for a day or so.
As with most of these, it was the moment when the lovers realize they love each other and the first embrace takes place. Although these moments are predictable in such books, when well done, who cares? I enjoyed it and that's what matters to me.
Robert Petkoff did a fine job and I will look for him again.
This book did not make me cry, but I do remember laughing a little. I compare listening to this, to eating a nicely decadent box of chocolates. You know you shouldn't but you cannot resist, and well, sometimes chocolate is just what you need---not a great and glorious message, not a bowl of salad or a carrot, but something fun, romantic, and sexy, which this books delivers.
If you were ever intrigued by the whole
Something about yourself.
They are just fabulous either way. Sometimes the earthiness of the prose makes listening in privacy an issue ha
Gee I like them all but Bowen the heroes best friend caught my interest. Emmaline intrigued me and the thought of all the internet shopping she can do with Lachlan's money makes him very likeable. I guess the
He makes the hero come alive. The accents are wonderful. The pitch of his voice his timing in reading the story and the emotions he can communicate just enhance the tale.
I did not laugh or cry but I admit to a sigh.
This is a great start to the series. I have all the books and was glad to see this one as an audio book. Can't wait for the other titles to be added to audio.
I loved it. Great plot, full of action and romance. It was HOTTTTTTTTTTT and steamy!....the leg freaked me out a bit but emma got over it so I did too! LOL
Say something about yourself!
I don???t understand the rave reviews for the narrator ??? his male accents seemed to go back and forth between Scottish and British ??? a couple of times I thought I was listening to Ringo Star. I am used to Davida Porter and her natural and capable transition between women and men, Scottish and British accents. This person couldn???t transition between sometimes British, sometimes Southern American, sometimes Scottish. It was frustrating. I honestly think Davida would have done so much better ??? and she is no stranger to erotic moments.
The story was interesting because I am not accustomed to this genre and have never heard of some of these ???things??? ??? as far as I know the unknown supernatural beings are all creations of the author. I have heard of covens, but what is a Valkyrie? Thank you Wikipedia???
The story was predictable with the emotional part ??? the unpredictability came from the creatures that inhabit the story. I really disliked the narrator ??? I don???t understand what the other reviewers were thinking. He actually made it worse.
I had a bit of a hard time getting into this book at first. The narrator is great but the story seemed a bit choppy, but then it levels out and becomes really good! I can't wait for the other books to come to audible.
Awesome, very sexy!
