Publisher's summary

Life is the ultimate game of hide and seek... and the good news is that you're it! With the combination of playful irreverence and penetrating insight that made him a legend in Western philosophy, Alan Watts investigates the surprisingly liberating concept of "the universe as play" found at the heart of Hinduism, Zen, and other wisdom traditions.

Carefully selected by his son and archivist Mark Watts, You're It: On Hiding, Seeking, and Being Found features more than 10 hours of newly restored historic talks from the "spiritual entertainer" who helped define Eastern thought to audiences in the West. Here is a rare chance for listeners to experience the enduring brilliance of one of the greatest spiritual voices of the 20th century.

Alan Watts is timeless

Listening to Alan Watts is always sobering. It is very easy to get caught up in the spiritual rat race and find that I am becoming overwhelmed in trying to be impossibly "perfect." When I listen to Alan Watts I almost feel like I am listening to a psychologist who gets me very well and doesn't even need me to speak at all, but says all the right things to get me out of my own way. Not sure if he is for everyone, but probably mostly for people who find themselves at a certain spot in their spiritual journey.

My greatest teacher - Alan Watts

"You can't blame anyone else for the world that you're in. And if you know that I, in the sense of the person/the front/the ego, really doesn't exist, than it won't go to your head too badly if you wake up and discover that you're God".
This is Alan Watts closing sentence for this recording and it summarize everything! Masterpiece 🙏🏻❤️

Entertaining and Educational Introduction to Watts

Any additional comments?

The first half hour alone, which includes Watts’ explanation for why he is not a guru, provides a vital perspective for people who want to help others, as well as a context for a rich body of work which investigates spirituality as a means of discussing some of the most profound and fundamentally human issues that are too often left unobserved.

The title says it all.

Reality as clearly as words can express it. Classic Alan Watts at his very best.

exceptional

it's very motivating and inspiring and am glad I listened to this.
it is a bit different from and other audio book.
this is more of a recording of Alan Watts speaking at conventions and teaching about Buddhism rather than a book with chapters and plots.
very awesome job done in the audio very happy that his talks were recorded for everyone to enjoy and learn from even well after his passing.
