Women Inspired by the Beloved (Peace be Upon Him) | [Dr. Hesham Al-Awadi]

Women Inspired by the Beloved (Peace be Upon Him)

The listener is taken on a truly fascinating journey of discovery exploring the role women played in different communities across the Islamic world. This is not "another" narrative on the biographies of Muslim women, but a very detailed and selected insight into "unique" women: those who made a difference within their families, communities, and nations - wise women, influential women, and even oppressed women who all strove to establish the way of God.

Publisher's Summary

Women Inspired by the Beloved is a series of 10 lectures by Dr Hesham Al-Awadi that survey the history of great Muslim women from the time of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) right through to the present day and is the follow-up title to Children Around the Prophet (Peace be Upon Him).

Without understanding their contribution and impact, the history of past Muslim achievements would be incomplete.

    "Wonderful lectures"

I've listened to several lectures by Dr. al-Awadi and I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. This collection of lectures on Muslim women is no exception. Dr. al-Awadi is engaging and makes Islamic history relevent to the contemporary context. I would highly recommend this collection of lectures, with one caveat: this is primarily aimed at a Muslim audience so it may be difficult at times for those without a background in basic Muslim history and a familiarity with many customary Arabic terms and phrases to understand.

"The best course I have listened to-EVER!"

To Any woman or man I urge you to listen to this course and begin to learn about women in Islam and why so many women feel they are being liberated and not confined by Islam.
As a muslim who has a thirst for knowledge and ideas of feminism that I found incompatible with my beliefs, I have come to realise that the shackles I have been bestowed were cultural and I only accepted my position due to ignorance. This course has enabled me to own my opinions and ideas as a woman but also to take some responsability to the capitalistic mess around us and try to obtain more knowledge in order to contribute towards discussions of faith, morals, ethics and ecology that are facing and challenging our humanity and our ability to achieve a connection with our faith and our path as women and as Muslims. JazzakhAllah khairun Dr Alawadi.
