A presentation of enlightened ideologies.

I love when the writing is read by the author. It just doesn't get any closer real than to have the real person explain and hearing him tell you about the concepts in his own words.

This was a great audiobook and Joseph Campbell was a wonderful person. I only wish I could have been blessed with having known him.

Very interesting commentary and points of view from a scholar in myth, mysticism and spirituality, a must read in the life class arena.

My "Hero" ...with just one face!

Would you listen to The Wisdom of Joseph Campbell again? Why?

Of course! I do repeatedly. Joseph Campbell is one of the most insightful and articulate and genuine sources of inspiration I've ever encountered. He's become an imaginary mentor for me! So, naturally, I replay anything I have of him speaking.

What other book might you compare The Wisdom of Joseph Campbell to and why?

I don't have many other audio books like it... the interview format makes it seem like just that: an interview, and not so much an audiobook. That's fine, though. Who cares!? It's still great content and Campbell is still the amazing orator he is.

What about Joseph Campbell and Michael Toms ’s performance did you like?

Michael Toms is okay. He asks good questions. Joseph Campbell is very much "on his game" in this interview, and he explores new topics and emphasizes new ideas.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

"A Cup of Joe" [geeze I don't know... haha]

Any additional comments?

This is worth it! Campbell's message is vital in today's world.

Enlightening

I can't do justice to reviewing Campbell's ideas. He's opened me up to do much in life and I'm so thankful. And listening to him at different points in my life keep giving me new insights. The interviewer Toms is OK but at times a little annoying. Has habit of Whining about today's world but Campbell always has ability to take in a good direction.

Joseph Campbell at his best

I love this recording because reading the book, which I have done, does not come close to hearing the author speak his own words. So many beautiful inflections and subtleties. I will be listening to this great wisdom many times. The person who asked the question "why are we here? " or "what is the meaning of life?" Gets the joyful true answer and the clue to finding it.

Wisdom from the source

Can be a bit repetitive, but overall quality is sky high. Very happy with my listen and will revisit later. Thanks, Joe!

Becoming conscious

I am so thrilled with this audio. Joseph Campbell was so ahead of his time. He saw early the need for cohesive spirituality--a belief that the Christ is within us and that religion separates us. These interviews are done with clarity and discretion, focusing on getting the message across. For those exploring "spirituality", this has much to offer.
