First published in 1997, The Sacred Romance is quietly on its way to becoming a classic. Why have so many people connected so powerfully to the book? Authors Brent Curtis and John Eldredge put words to long-forgotten feelings. They voice our unspoken fears about God's goodness and our own emptiness. Without being preachy or cliche, the authors offer a glimpse of God's heart that is tender, risky, and compelling. The Sacred Romance is the story of our lives; it is God's story. It is His invitation to experience the beauty, intimacy, and adventure we secretly desire.

Courage is a resistance to fear; mastery of fear - not absence of fear. -mark twain
This book has a unbelievable message about the soul. We have all experienced "arrows" as they call it in the book, or "hurts" in our lives whether we know it or not. This book helps you sort through your past and grow with a great understanding of who you were meant to be. I passionately loved this book. This will be a book you should read or listen to multiple times, or go through the audio and then dig into the book. Beautifully written!
Yes. It has begun to completely change the way I view my relationship with Christ and has broadened my understanding of how much God loves me!
I have not-- he's good though!
I loved this book. it really made me stop anf think and see things with a different perspective. From the first page it spoke to me. Its like the authors knew what I was feeling in my heart and wrote about it just for me. I will definitely re-read.
I generally enjoyed the approach to drawing closer to God, but was a bit put off by some of the sappiness of both the writing and reading.
