Let's start by saying it's a valuable listen. I tend to listen to a variety of Self Development audio. Many have wonderful messages and have an uplifting feeling to them. This one forces you to look inward and ask yourself some honest and tough questions. Some of the answers are not what you want to admit to. So at times, it was a bit uncomfortable and anxiety inducing.
But truth be told, coming to terms with your weaknesses and mistakes help you start the process of moving forward. Some chapters are more valuable than others. They will vary based on where you are. I will definitely go back and relisten to a few chapters from time to time.
The author comes across as sincere, relaxed and not 'all-knowing' but someone who has experienced a great deal. I will definitely look for more from this author.
I'd recommend this to a friend!
I have to admit that I am glad that I got the audiobook instead of the hard copy. He uses different voices in the begginning to narrate and it makes it real and come to life. It's a great book that makes you want to go to the next level in life. However if you have ever heard TD Jakes' sermons you won't get that excitement in his presentation which you hear in his sermons. (which I guess is expected because this is an aduiobook) However, his sermons are so full of life so hearing him with this monotone voice seems a little different. Still a great audiobook!
Exploring ideas should come from many angles and places. I do not have to agree with all the ideas presented . In order to grow one should be willing to open up and explore items which they find interesting or different from their norm.
Yes I would recommend this audio book because I could relate to the stories .
Take another look
When you are ready for help it is available you just have to willing to put in the work and stop waiting for someone to do it for you
Book nerd for life!
Yes because you hear it narrated by TD Jakes himself
It provided great resources and stories
I've listened to his podcast recordings of his sermons, and it was very similar. Like sitting down and chatting with him one on one
Yes, I wish I would have
Great audiobook that I would highly recommend and would listen to again
In typical T.D. Jakes fashion, this book went so far out of this way to paint a descriptive picture, that it looses focus on the point. Every sentence doesn't need to be elaborated on.
A listeader. I love the journey of listening to my intellectual fortification.
TD Jakes. He's auditory inspiration.
One of the best orators of our age and now that in book form. If you need a little ummppff to get you going, this would be it.
Upped. Getting what you need to get you there.
Yes, a lot of wisdom that I would like to revisit.
I can hear the passion.
Go for it!
The way that TD Jakes breaks down what appears to be complex issues into bite size junks that anyone can understand.
It was filled with rich and personal examples.
