Wow, I can’t believe that I had never heard of Ann Voskamp! So thankful that my friend suggested this book! I can’t wait to re listen !! I am going to write my own 1000 list of thanksgiving, tho I am sure it will turn into an infinite list! This came at the best time of my life - Gods timing I’m sure! One of my favorite listens so far!

Ann is a women full of emotion and realness in her relationships....with her family and with God. It is a pleasure and a gift to hear her tell her story of heartaches and blessings and God's presence through it all. She has discovered how to find fullness in life....thanks for sharing Ann! Her book (for my reading friends) is going to be a new favorite gift for me to give......I'm thankful to hear HER tell her story.

Mind Awakening Work

I loved hearing this book from the author's own voice. She's not a Southerner so I had to slow her down a bit with your handy tool. This was my first book by her and also my first audio book. It was a wake up call to me to learn the practice of seeking out the wonders of our world each day and live in the for the small joys we so often rush by and never notice. So thankful for this being available thru your service!

What made the experience of listening to One Thousand Gifts the most enjoyable?

I have seen this book dozen's of times and wanted to purchase, however, with other needs at hand, didn't....until the other day. A friend of mine strongly suggested the book, and after downloading the amazing app, I found I could no longer wait. I weighed the options of paperback vs. audio, and concluded the chances were much greater to listen on my drive in to work due to my very busy schedule. And what a gift! I found Ann's voice almost meditative. Her words penetrate my soul in a way I haven't felt in years. The beauty of her words for every single grateful moment had me in tears, laughing, and absolutely absorbing every word like a child soaks up Christmas morning! She brings me back to this soul creativity within me that is and has been aching to get out. I know this book will be listened to over and over and over! I am grateful for One Thousand times for One Thousand different reasons!

I will continue counting grateful moments via the awesome iphone app and inevitably am finding blessings, gratitude and God at ever increasing speeds, yet time is in fact slowing down as I enjoy each one!

a classic

This is a unique, pensive book....one belonging in every Christian's library. Once again, I usually prefer that someone else read the author's book because of the perspective another voice lends to the narrative. Authors' voices mirror their own attachment/detachment to situations....and in a way, that is good....but after a while, they seem to lose the dynamic of their own story and it becomes tedious. Out of necessity, we all emotionally detach from crisis, and you can hear the hypnotic detachment when authors read their own material..."outside" readers don't do that.
