Publisher's summary

Is there life beyond the grave? Is it reasonable to believe in the afterlife? If so, how should we act on those beliefs?

Best-selling author Dinesh D'Souza undertakes an unprecedented voyage of intellectual discovery to reveal the truth about life, death and beyond. Unlike many books about the afterlife, Life After Death makes no appeal to religious faith, divine revelation, or sacred texts. Drawing on some of the most powerful theories and trends in physics, evolutionary biology, science, philosophy, and psychology, D'Souza shows why the atheist critique of immortality is irrational - and draws the striking conclusion that it is reasonable to believe in life after death.

He concludes by showing how life after death can give depth and significance to this life, a path to happiness, and reason for hope.

TMI (too much information)

I was expecting a typical life after death book and instead got a complete education in every science known to mankind. While I consider myself an intelligent person, I was blown away with the incredible amount of information on physics, biology, physiology, history, philosophy etc. while I understand that some people need all of this to come to a conclusion on the matter of life after death, I do not. I did learn many things about these subjects while listening to this book, but some of it was over my head and this made a few of the chapters hard to get through. Chapters 5 and 6 in particular. I can think of a few people in my circle of friends who would like this book more than I did so I may recommend it to them. For me though, just thinking about ever listening to this again makes me cringe.

Dinesh has a gift for simplifying.

I Loved this book. It was simplified to be understood by a regular Joe or even an intellectual tween. Alot of ammo in the defense of common objections to faith in general. I have actually listened through this book twice.

Loved it!

Dinesh is brilliant. I appreciate the historical and scientific (secular) approach. This makes it accessible to anyone. But I really appreciate an appeal to the gospel at the end. Die hard atheists have been warned. You might be challenged.

My Favorite of the Year

Don't wait until you are on your deathbed to read this terrific book. It will be too late. You won't feel up to reading anything. In this work, the author argues persuasively that science and philosophy actually support the premise of life after death - in contrast to common belief. This book is an entertaining, thought-provoking, eye-opening, and thorough exploration of a topic long thought the sole domain of religion. You'll learn much about things you've only superficially encountered before and will find yourself richly rewarded. The narration is excellent. There's nothing dull or stuffy about this book, and you'll find yourself racing to finish. Highly recommended for all listeners.

Convinced

One of the best and most convincing books on apologetics I've read/listened to. Dinesh puts words to ideas I've believed to be true since I was a child but could not articulate.

Good, but not as compelling as I'd hoped

I felt like it tried to cover too much, which consequently meant the author jumped to conclusions before I did and failed to expound on key points. Well thought through, but each chapter could have it's own book, I'd have preferred more focus and more in depth coverage of the central subject.
