The goal of God’s Not Dead: Evidence for God in an Age of Uncertainty is straightforward: to help listeners develop "a faith that is real and credible - and strong enough to help others find faith in God." To that end, Rice Broocks outlines a roadmap that guides seekers to acknowledge the most basic truths of Christianity:
Persuasive arguments crafted with tools borrowed from logic, science, and philosophy, as well as scripture, solidify the faith of the Christian listeners and provide starting points for discussions with skeptics. With clear, easy-to-follow explanations of key concepts and controversies, God’s Not Dead is apologetics for the 21st century, presented in layman’s terms. Listeners will be empowered not only to talk about their own faith with confidence but to lead others to a relationship with Jesus.

I am an athiest/agnositc. I also beleive in hearing all sides of a debate or discussion and thinking through the arguments. How you should approach this book will depend on the type of audience you are.
If your a christian...
This book has a lot of cheer leading for you. However don't assume this is the perfect argument to bring athiests to the church pews. It's not. There are many statements the author claims are scientific facts that just aren't. The general direction of the author's argument is not going to appeal to a non-beleiver. I would not use this as a guide to converting athiests.
If your an athiest...
There is a lot to laugh at in this book. The author's grasp of scientific knowledge is light, enough to sound smart to the unschooled. I found the first half of the book more compelling than the second half. The second half goes into scripture a lot and he assumes you will see the wisdom and truth in it where there just isn't any. The author does kind of make a point we athiests should take to heart. Some athiests of the more militant kind cannot see the comfort and wisdom that religion provides many people. My mother needs faith like a fish needs water. No amount of reason is going to stop that. I love Dawkins books on science but he is a bit harsh with believers, which causes the faithfull to double down. We can appreciate the wisdom of Luke 6:31, do unto others as you would have them do to you, even if we don't beleive in the magic man in the sky.
Rice takes a great perspective on the topic of apologetics, combining: research, science, practical logic, and faith. Definitely worth a read/listen.
Striving to be who God wants me to be
Will need to listen to this again. Some of it gets technical, not in the concept of who God is but on debunking some of the arguments that He doesn't exist. Thanks to the author
I bought this audiobook because I had recently been inundated with atheists around me trying to "test" my faith in God, or just simply asking me questions on the proof of God's existence. Even friends that had once professed to me to be Christians were asking me questions and expressing doubt. This book gave me answers to all of the question as well as educated me on points I had never thought of. I feel much better prepared for the scientific questions that I've never been able to answer, to go along with the Biblical questions that I've always been able to answer! I love the Lord with all my heart and am now going to use this book and its content to help bring others to him!!!
I am extremely impressed with how much proof of a God that this book has in it! And although it was full of facts, and very educational, it was very interesting as well. That is very important to me because in my case if a book is even just a little to boring, I tend to put off or stop reading it. Bottom line: Gods Not Dead all ways had a way of catching my attention and making me interested.
I think everyone should read this book disputed their religion. It was very helpful and resourceful. You are given facts and philosophy to understand the great questions nagging in the back of your mind. I am not a new Cristian but I still wondered about some of the information discussed in the book. This book helped to fortify my beliefs.
"A sound & comprehensive presentation of the gospel"
I recommend this book to all those who have deep feeling that they know the truth of the Christian gospel is objectively true. And for those who need to sharpen their arguments.
