Bondage of the Will

First published in 1525, Martin Luther's Bondage of the Will is acknowledged by theologians as one of the great masterpieces of the Reformation. It is Luther response to Desiderius Erasmus' Diatribe on Free Will, written in his direct and unique style, combining deep spirituality with humor. Publisher's Summary

Luther writes powerfully about man's depravity and God's sovereignty. The crucial issue for Luther concerned what ability free will has, and to what degree it is subject to God's sovereignty. For Luther, this key issue of free will is directly connected to God's plan of salvation. Is man able to save himself, or is his salvation entirely a work of divine grace? This work is vital to understanding the primary doctrines of the Reformation and will long remain among the great theological classics of Christian history.

"Great change of pace, quality writing, great reader"
If you could sum up Bondage of the Will in three words, what would they be?

    entertaining, informative, riveting

What about Nadia May’s performance did you like?

I love listening to her tell Luther's antagonist off in such a genteel way.

    "Wow. Thank you"

This book was very good. It articulates the reformed view in the simplest terms as possible. I hope many modern evangelicals take the time to read this. It is worth it.

    "British woman with bad accent"

The narrator was absolutely terrible. I was looking forward to this book, but can't understand her British accent. I've only listened to 3 minutes of her reading out of the 11 hours I purchased and I am ready to ask for a refund.
