What is America becoming? Or, more importantly, what can she be if we reclaim a vision for the things that made her great in the first place? In America the Beautiful, Dr. Ben Carson helps us learn from our past in order to chart a better course for our future.
From his personal ascent from inner-city poverty to international medical and humanitarian acclaim, Carson shares experiential insights that help us understand what is good about America, where we have gone astray, and which fundamental beliefs have guided America from her founding into preeminence among nations.
Written by a man who has experienced America's best and worst firsthand, America the Beautiful is at once alarming, convicting, and inspiring. You'll gain new perspectives on our nation's origins, our Judeo-Christian heritage, our educational system, capitalism versus socialism, our moral fabric, health care, and much more. An incisive manifesto of the values that shaped America's past and must shape her future, America the Beautiful calls us all to use our God-given talents to improve our lives, our communities, our nation, and our world.

Dr. Carson writes a book that leads man to a path of peace, enlightenment and fulfillment. He helps reestablish the founding principles of the American revolution. If our nation as a people would be so bold to step into these principles and live them again we would indeed prosper!
I really enjoy how Dr. Carson explains tolerance and fairness and equity and how it applies in government.
You can't always count on a candidate's book being interesting when they're running for office but this one kept me listening and shed light on the character of Ben Carson as well as his vision for America. As I have followed the debates he has been consistent with what is represented here. Refreshingly honest.
I enjoyed this book very much it was presented well with Anna fine thoughts about where America is going I was happy to find that other people think the way I think about America and the things that should go to make this a great country I would give it a five star rating
I am a working mom who loves to squeeze in listening to books while walking, doing chores or commuting.
This ranks in my top 10%.
I particularly enjoyed the background about Ben Carson's upbringing by a single mom in poverty. It is incredible to see how his mother did not let her circumstances define who she was or lower her expectations for her two boys. She truly sounds like a great American woman.
No, this is my first.
The book is touching. I feel that I know more about Ben Carson and what he stands for.
I didn't have any expectations when I started this book. I had heard of Dr. Carson because of my job in healthcare. This book was a balanced mix of history, personal experience, and cogent recommendations on solving major problems in America. I recommend it to anybody searching for solutions to modern day societal and political issues. I hope Dr. Carson someday writes a book addressing the serious problems with the US healthcare system from the perspective of a neuro - surgeon.
Straight forward, caring, no mud slinging....just honest logical thoughts about the things that are truly important to our Nation.
