Publisher's summary

One man on a journey of redemption and the other out to prove himself.

Cohen "Ace" Gray—Pegasus Commander. He'd buried one lover; he wasn't going to take the chance of that ever happening again. Ace had his own demons to work on, but working closely with Jacob and having his friendship—despite their twenty-year age difference—had made life a bit easier. The void that Jacob left ate at him and burned into his brain, making him think that he might have made the biggest mistake of his life turning Jacob away.

Jacob Burns—Techie specialist, skilled in combat, expert at weapons. He never dreamed it would be this hard to cut the apron strings from his three dads. He got it. They lived a brutal life and dealt with the scum that hovered in the darkest part of society. What they didn't fully understand was that he'd watched and learned from them, and he would leave his mark on this world. Ace and his dads thought he didn't have what it took to be an operative.

They were so damned wrong.

One job. One chance encounter. When an unexpected meeting happens, both men are left stunned.

Then, it gets all twisted up.

Contains mature themes.

enjoyed it

📖 Story comment: Good pace, likeable characters, entertaining plot.
I enjoyed Ace and Jacob's story - I liked that Ace finally stepped up for Jacob who is all grown up and has come into his own.
... communicate ...communicate ... communicate ... why is it sooo hard (lol!).
Rebel has all the elements this author writes so well: action, adventure, great character development and a team of operatives that will do whatever is needed to get the job done!

🎧 Narrator comment: I enjoyed Declan Winter's narration, he really suits these type of characters, has good cadence, inflections and intonations and it's easy to distinguish the characters from each other. Overall an enjoyable performance and he bought the characters of the book to life

Finally!

Finally Ace stepped up for Jacob, their tension and spark throughout this series made me really happy by the time I got here. I did want to give up though a couple times with their lack of communication but overall this book had a ton of action which kept me interested and they eventually did communicate and work out their happily ever after. I think the narrator did an amazing job bringing these two to life.
