This exciting audio drama is based on an immensely popular podcast that has received hundreds of positive reviews and has had over four million downloads - and counting.
For Army Reserve soldier Michael Cross, the world as he knows it ends in an instant. One minute he’s in college, and the next rioters are roaming the highway around him, breaking into cars and literally tearing people apart. This is the day the dead walk. This is the world of We’re Alive.
The first season features 12 chapters packing performances and sound effects that rival movies and prove that modern audio drama is undead and well. Join our survivors as they band together, struggle to fortify a safe haven known as the Tower, and discover that zombies are far from the worst thing in a post apocalyptic Los Angeles, where the rules of human decency no longer apply.
Little food. Little water. Little hope. Who is lucky enough to say "We're Alive"?

“We’re Alive is a modern rendition of an old-school medium. Maintaining a style that is both retro and contemporary, the radio drama will give horror fans the campy, kitschy style they like, but it also provides a variety of characters and development to keep general audiences engaged…Despite not being able to see the action, the excitement and intensity is still sustained through score and sound design. In some ways, the lack of visuals to accompany the audio creates more suspense. The narrator controls how much the audience knows, slowly teasing out information. Accompanying the drama are sparse moments of comedic relief…Expressing a keen awareness of the zombie subgenre, many of the jokes come from familiar scenarios and tropes of zombie stories.” (Examiner.com)
I would totally and have only to see them also get hooked on it. Fantastic story and you become attached to the characters.
It wasn't an over the top zombie story and it was paced very well. Over the next few seasons they explain a lot about the backstories of the characters which was lovely.
The cast starts out a bit rough but they really grow into their own around chapter three, I think as with all things they needed time to gel well.
Beyond listening to the series now for the fifth time?
I only wish I had found this while it was still being released as a podcast but so thrilled it was compiled into audio book format.
Absolutely great story , cast and sound effects. A blend of The Walking Dead and Legion in the style of old-school radio dramas. I went through the entire season one in 2 days as I drove . The cast is top notch making it feel like your right there with them.
I was skeptical about the format but this is an amazing way to experience the story. I'm on to the next season! Don't hesitate, it's fabulous
really enjoyed the sound effects and the casts performance. favorite book out of the other 30 I've listened too.
I love Sci Fi/Fantasy books. The very first author I listened to was Laurell K Hamilton. I love audiobooks they allow me the luxury of books without reading since I don't see well at all.
I simply loved this show. It was action packed and o loved all the characters.
I remember when this first came out in the podcast realm and I tuned in as soon as it came out. Each and every time. It was absolutely wonderful to relisten to the first season in its entirety without having to wait a week for each chapter/section.
The production is movie studio quality, the acting is fantastic, and I look forward to listening to the rest of the seasons, reliving each of them before heading into their new production: We're Alive - Lockdown.
Well worth the credit...or 4, because I nabbed all 4 seasons.
