Publisher's summary

Escape current events for the moment to a time when life was just a little bit easier, a little bit more explorative, and a little bit more fun and romantic.

This audiobook tells a true story exploring the adventurous journey of a young, carefree Pan Am flight attendant who experienced world travel that only a few could ever imagine. The good, the bad, and the ugly truth about what it was like working for one of the largest airlines in the world, Pan Am World Airways, the pioneer of transatlantic flight.

Pan Am After the Glamour Fades: Memoirs of a Flight Attendant 1989-1991 is like no other Pan Am book you may have listened to in the past. Exposing secrets of an otherwise glamorous career on the surface, she escorts us into the obscure annals of humanity through the lens of a young female flight attendant.

The story is set in the late '80s era, when Pan Am had already reached the pinnacle of its lifespan and success and begun its downward spiral into financial ruin. While the rest of the world was embracing the dawn of the digital era and massive wealth accumulation through internet speculation, change was inevitable for Pan Am and its employees. Experience an insider view of the ups and downs of flying as a cabin crew member of the most sought-after airline in the world.

Christine’s story is written in a first-person account, so you will laugh and probably be moved to tears as she compels you to feel as if you’re right there with her, experiencing events as they were happening. Some stories will even surprise and disturb you.

You will find yourself taking a trip to exotic places that most people could only dream of traveling, and meeting world-renowned celebrity personalities who were an inspiration to Americans of the '70s and '80s. At times, she will go deeper than the surface to share her very personal and intimate experiences never before shared with anyone, not even her own family and friends.

All of the names of characters in this audiobook have been changed to respect the privacy of all persons mentioned in Christine’s memoir. However, events, situations, and locations are all truthful but uninhibited.

Me too!

short but packs a big punch. I felt compelled to purchase it. I knew a bit of my story would be in there! I spent 12 years with Pan Am, before "resigning" to pursue a career in education and the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation We were a special breed that flew around the world and are alive to tell about it. Oh and Christne we share a birthday albeit 16 years apart. Thanks for sharing all Maria Rinna

Young discovery and travel stories!

An exciting tale of discovering yourself and walking the path of life! I enjoyed the stories of wonder and trying to find ones place in the world. It was great to see how the flight and travel world was so different compared to our day now!

A Good History Pan Am History lesson

complimenting many other books written about Pan Am during its glory years of the '60s '70s and part '80s. This honest and candid memoir of the '90s is very true to fact. as a former Pan Am employee. I enjoyed it immensely.

A sad remembrance indeed

I was there at the end of Pan-American yes it was sad and probably uncalled for. As I read the book I was horrified with the interpretation of life with Pan-American. I flew from New York and Denver felt short of money and escaped drunken brawls. This was a bad book
