Publisher's summary
This interview with Marcus Hollister, the man who ‘sort of’ invented time travel, is a touching story of love, regret, loss, and the hope for redemption. Nearing the end of his life, wealthy recluse and long-time widower Marcus Hollister—famously known for creating the technology behind Vacations in Time—wished to tell his story to a hopeful young reporter, Jessica Matthews.
Why did he choose her? Why now? She was most interested in his motivations for creating a means of what Marcus called time jumping and his explanation of the 'overlap' it produced.
Probing questions steered the conversation toward how his time travel invention came to be nothing more than a recreational tool, and why he shut down the multi-trillion-dollar business it spawned. Their one-hour meeting stretched into three days, in which they discovered some secrets were best kept buried.

Surprising twists to play on the ‘what if’s’ we all wonder about in our own lives
First of all, I think the choice for narrators was perfect. They fit the characters well. As a fan of science fiction, I love how the ideas for time travel and it’s consequences seem endless and this story definitely adds it’s own unique twist to the theory. Drawing from my own sense of loss from loved ones gone too soon and considering the author a friend and knowing some of his past made the story and the yearning to change things in our past that much more ‘bittersweet’ as the main character sums it up himself. As a visual person, I really appreciated the highly descriptive wording, making it easier to see, hear, smell and feel what the author and his creations were immersed in. I look forward to reading more of N. Joseph Glass’s books.

Intriguing, Captivating
Marcus Hollister, time traveler extraordinaire, meets with a young reporter, Jessica Matthews. Given the nearness of his demise, Hollister wishes to share his story with the world. Little did he know that Jessica Matthews is not only a reporter who can share his story but is an intricate piece of his world.
N. Joseph Glass, the author, carefully weaves an intricate story of invention, time travel, choices, and loss. Each character is integral to the storyline and is treated as such. The narrative flows smoothly with moments of unexpected plot twists that keep the action building. The dialogue flows evenly and authentically. Hollister’s profound loss and his hope for redemption are vividly detailed, drawing the listener deeper into his emotional journey. While perplexing, the concept of time that was introduced was initially perplexing, Glass adeptly navigated the narrative, ensuring clarity and comprehension from beginning to end.
The narrators, Tom Haire and Heidi Housh deliver a performance that further enhances the audiobook through their talents and skills. Each narrator accurately and vividly portrays their roles and characters, holding the listener’s attention and ensuring clarity. Their cadence and delivery were perfect.
This is an interesting and captivating audiobook. Between the creativity of the author and the narrators, it is a definite must-listen!
