Publisher's summary

Their guests vanish or wind up dead. The owner has changed into a different man. And his wife…she’s sure she’s being haunted.

Running an inn on the coast, living next to the beautiful ocean, and entertaining guests sounds like a dream come true for the couple in love. Except once they open their business, odd things begin to happen. Nothing serious, nothing Rose can’t blow off.

Until their guests begin to die or vanish, one by one.

Something sinister is going on. Thomas has grown cold and pushes her away. His calculated behavior scares her, just like the unexplained events she keeps experiencing. Rose never believed in ghosts, but every passing day she begins to wonder if she’s being haunted. Her picture-perfect life is on the rocks—she must learn the truth about Hartley Inn……and hope she isn’t claimed as the Inn’s next victim.

Hartley House

Rose thinks that she is a very lucky woman, married to Thomas Hartley and owning a wonderful new hotel. However, things soon become less than ideal as Thomas seems to drift away from Rose and spends a lot of time in the basement.

The story of Thomas' true nature is truly horrifying, but the author has not gone into gruesome details. Instead, the reader can imagine the horrors within their minds (which is often much more horrific!). The story is compelling and this is a quick read. One small complaint I have is that their is an inconsistency in one fact in the book when a "secret" is revealed at least 3 times in the book.

The narrator was perfect for the story and added a lot to the unease and tension as the story progressed. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well-written ghost story with just the right amount of creepiness.

Best in the trilogy!

“Hartley House Origins” by Eve S Evans is NOT ONLY book three in the Hartley House Trilogy but it’s also THE BEST book in the series! I’m sure you’ve already started wondering what caused Hartley House is have such a dark matter looming within…or who. It was supposed to be a bed & breakfast for a beautiful husband & wife endeavor. After they open, Thomas starts acting strange. He starts retreating to the deepest chambers of the house in secrecy while hoarding supplies. Get into this book to find out how far it goes! ⭐️6/5 + 😱3/5 + ⚖️4/5 for sure!
