Publisher's Summary

Rose Drayton lives on the Edge, between the world of the Broken (where people drive cars, shop at Wal-Mart, and magic is a fairy tale) and the Weird (where blueblood aristocrats rule, changelings roam, and the strength of your magic can change your destiny). Only Edgers like Rose can easily travel from one world to the next, but they never truly belong in either. Rose thought if she practiced her magic, she could build a better life for herself. But things didn't turn out how she planned, and now she works a minimum wage, off-the-books job in the Broken just to survive.

Then Declan Camarine, a blueblood noble straight out of the deepest part of the Weird, comes into her life, determined to have her (and her power). But when a terrible danger invades the Edge from the Weird, a flood of creatures hungry for magic, Declan and Rose must work together to destroy them - or they'll devour the Edge and everyone in it.

Spend some more time on The Edge.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

What a fun listen! I was a little leary about this series at first. I love the rest of ILlona Andrews' other books but the official summary just didn't sound all that good. I was very pleasently surprised! It is much better than the publishers review! Interesting characters, unique story line and a wonderfully twisted romance plot line.

Have you listened to any of Renée Raudman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The narrator had a very nice range of characterization. She also has agreat grasp of the characters emotions.

    Any additional comments?

All in all just a very interestingly fun listen! I am looking forward to book two.

Where does On the Edge rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of the best fantasy novels I have read in a while.

What other book might you compare On the Edge to and why?

I love magic and a good love story; this book does a great job at both. Unlike some books that do a good job at one or another, this book completely captivated me with every aspect of the story.

What about Renée Raudman’s performance did you like?

At first, Renee Raudman sounded a bit like Ellen Degeneres and the likeness was distracting, but not for long. Raudman's voice changes are not over the top but are different enough to make distinguishing characters in conversation easy.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I couldn't stop listening to the story. I stayed up nearly all night listening and finished the book in two days .... thank God for the weekend :-)

    "Another winner for Andrews"

This looks to be another great series form Ilona Andrews. I enjoyed the complex world, and the beings she fills it with. Her main lady character, has character, and it's fun to tag along in her world, with her family. Has drama, mystery, romance, love, and an interesting story. I enjoyed the narrator, differentiating between the characters very well. All and all, is worth listening to.

    "I loved this book."

Now, I'm not too fond of the Kate Daniels series however, this one kept my interest. The characters are well thought out, their motivations clear and although this is formula urban romance, the unexpected keeps on comin'! The women in some romance or urban fantasy novels these days are tough ass, sarcastic, whiney women who complain too much and keep making the same mistakes over and over again. The main characters in this series are well thought out and absolutely cool. They are strong but with reason and depth. The road to the characters finding love is not an easy one.

I've read some criticism about the narrator in the Kate Daniels series however in this one she is absolutely wonderful. Her Louisiana dialect is great. She is absolutely talented and narrates the characters in this series to perfection. I liked the first book so much I immediately couldn't wait to download Book 2.

So far Book 2 is truly cooooool.

I give this book five stars, yes FIVE stars.

    "Entertaining and different."

A little bit of a different take on the regular Urban Fantasy. Loved the characters, especially the little brothers. Wonderfull narration by Renee Raudman.
