Publisher's Summary

On his first presidential visit to address the European nations, President Obama felt it necessary to apologize for America’s international power. He repeated that apology when visiting Latin America, and again to Muslims worldwide in an interview broadcast on Al-Arabiya television.

In No Apology, Mitt Romney asserts that American strength is essential—not just for our own well-being, but for the world’s. Governments such as China and a newly robust Russia threaten to overtake us on many fronts, and Islam continues its dangerous rise. Drawing on history for lessons on how great powers collapse, Romney shows how and why our national advantages have eroded. From the long-term decline of our manufacturing base, our laggard educational system that has left us without enough engineers, scientists, and other skilled professionals, our corrupted financial practices that led to the current crisis, and the crushing impact of entitlements on our future obligations, America is in debt, overtaxed, and unprepared for the challenges it must face. We need renewal: fresh ideas to cut through complicated problems and restore our strength.

Creative and bold, Romney proposes simple solutions to rebuild industry, create good jobs, reduce out-of-control spending on entitlements and health care, dramatically improve education, and restore a military battered by eight years of war.

Most important, he calls for a new commitment to citizenship, a common cause we all share, rather than a laundry list of individual demands. Many of his solutions oppose President Obama’s policies, many also run counter to Republican thinking, but all have one strategic aim: to move America back to political and economic strength. Personal and dynamically-argued, No Apology is a call to action by a man who cares deeply about America’s history, its promise, and its future.

    "Perfect read for mid 2012"
Where does No Apology rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would place this book in the top few that I have listened to. It lays out the policies and personal convictions of Mitt Romney. It paints a clear picture of what he stands for, and what his presidency would be about, should he be elected.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Mitt Romney, as he is really the only person in the story.

What does Mitt Romney bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Its nice to hear a man's convictions in his own words, narrated by him as well. Gives you better context with his voice.

If you could give No Apology a new subtitle, what would it be?

    Reclaiming America, The Great

    Any additional comments?

    Go Mitt 2012!

"This is a must read in 2012!"
Where does No Apology rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Given the importance of this year's election, this book clearly articulates Romney's ideas on policy. For anyone who thinks he doesn't have ideas or a plan - for crying out loud he's written an entire book on policy and this is it! If you want to get to know the candidate better, this is it.

    "an important book"

I am not an American citizen, but I think that this book is a mandatory read for people going to vote at the end of this year. It is a wonderful opportunity to get into the head of who just might be the next leader of the free world.

"You can like this book without being a Republican."

I have never voted Republican and I have no intention of voting for Mitt Romney but I like to read or listen to the books written by all the major political players. I feel that a book is the best way for a politician to get his/her true message out without being subject to 30 second sound bites. I have listened to many and more of these books. Mitt Romney's "No Apology" is the best of the bunch both for his excellent/personal reading of it and for the clear and concise way he states his political positions. I disagree with a lot of what he says but I have to give him credit for writing and reading an excellent book. If you are interested in American politics this book is worth reading regardless of your personal politics.

"A good read for both sides"

This is a good book for the platform of an up coming Presidential candidate. No matter what side your on this is a good read and sound advice on a large scale (economic, trade, healthcare), but should be taken with a grain of salt on social issues.

    "Real Life Solutions"

I couldn't put the book (or ipod, in this case) down. Gov. Romney gives solutions to many of the tricky problems that are facing this great nation of ours. I downloaded with trepidation, not really sure what to expect or how much I would like it, but after reading it I am SOLD on Gov. Romney's case for a strong America.

    God Bless the USA!

"Great message, if it was 30 years ago..."
What made the experience of listening to No Apology the most enjoyable?

Was impressed at first, then the story turned scary...Russia and China are not the enemy, maybe 30 years ago, seems Romney is in a time warp...

If you???ve listened to books by Mitt Romney before, how does this one compare?

    his first book

Did Mitt Romney do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

    well written

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    yes

    Any additional comments?

History has already proved much of his ideas expressed as wrong for America, in my opinion... It is ok to apolgies...
