Darwin's theory of evolution is accepted by most educated Americans as simple fact. This easy acceptance, however, hides from us the many ways in which evolution - as an idea - shapes our thinking about a great many things. What if this idea is wrong? What if "evolution" is just a word that covers up scientific ignorance of how the wonders of the living world could have been created?
Berkeley law professor Phillip Johnson looks at the evidence for Darwinistic evolution the way a lawyer would - with a cold dispassionate eye for logic and proof. His discovery is that scientists have put the cart before the horse. They prematurely accepted Darwin's theory as fact and have been scrambling to find evidence for it - mostly unsuccessfully. As the evidentiary difficulties have piled up, scientists have clung to the theory out of fear of encouraging religious fundamentalism, and in the process have turned belief in Darwinism into their own religion.

The author did a great job of not bashing Darwin but at the same time exposing the problems and bias when it comes to dealing with evolution. For those that don't just accept things the way they are presented but like to ask questions.
If you are interested in hearing a different point of view this book is for you.
This book is excellent!!!.
Phillip Johnson clearly and methodically explores the Evolution controversy and presents the issue in a manner which removes the fog and produces clarity.
The Evolutionary Nazis will hate this book because it clearly and forcefully documents the deception which is being thrust upon our teenagers in the science classroom. Johnson spends time to define what is meant by "Evolution" and explains the difference between Micro evolution, which is observable science, and Darwinian/Macro evolution which is not observable and is believed by faith.
Johnson documents the case that Micro evolution is scientifically supportable but Macro evolution is not.
I thoroughly recommend this book to all who care about the deception being perpetrated onto trusting teens.
This book dovetails well with another Audible.com free book Kansas School Board - Evolutionary Hearings. These hearings contain the testimony of many prominent scientists who dissent from Darwinism and give convincing scientific evidence against Darwinian/Macro evolution.
I quite liked this book. I would certainly disagree with the reviewers who felt that this book was a fraud, or that it contained no facts, etc. In fact, I haven't really seen what I would consider a good post against it here (granted, as I write this, there are only 9 reviews, some of those are positive, so it's not a real large sample) The book does a good job of laying out why the author believes there are holes in Darwin's Theory of Evolution. Thoe who claim that it pushes "Creationism" are clearly listening with a bias, as it does no such thing. The author spends his time pointing out what he believes are flaws in Darwin's theory & sharing why he thinks so. If you are a die-hard evolutionist, you will probably hate the book. If you are a die-hard creationist, you will probably love it. If you are open minded about these kinds of things, you may well find it interesting to hear this perspective on the argument.
Philip Johnson articulates the problems with Darwinism very well. The book cannot simply be dismissed as "religious propaganda" because all of his criticisms are grounded in science, philosophy, and logic. Regardless of what side of the debate you're on it's worth listening to.
College English professor who loves classic literature, psychology, neurology and hates pop trash like Twilight and Fifty Shades of Grey.
The Edge Of Evolution, which will give you the detailed science behind the argument against Darwinian macro-evolution before you read the coordinated logical problems with Darwin's theory, which are presented in this book. Johnson's presentation is clear and thoughtful and logical, and simply points out what the macro-evolutionists can no longer hide: Darwin's theory of the ultimate origin of life simply doesn't work. (The rapidity with which Dawkins' little trolls rush in to give negative votes to positive reviews of such books as this shows how scary the truth can be. Vote away!)
The book highlights several things in the history of Darwinism and naturalism. Seeing how the politics have developed give a few good insights on the debate.
I just started studying up on the topic of Evolution and I'm surprised how zealous this particular brand of science is. Reminds me of Newton's third law as evolutionary biologists have become equal and opposite of the creationist movement.
This is where the audiobook suffers. Since some of the vocabulary is a little more advanced, a casual listener may have to frequently rewind the audio.
I would say that it wasn't. The narration is done with a British accent and at times it is difficult to determine whether something is being quoted. I would read the physical book instead.
No doubt this is a controversial topic. I'm new to the debate and already I see anti-creationists and anti-ID making comments on these types of books. You can tell from the rhetoric that they are extremely biased. This is not the only scientific topic that features two sides in a heated debate. Dietary science is in a heated debate between low-fat and low-carb diets. The similarities are difficult to ignore.
A new point of view about evolution followers. Not enough insistence in say everything about evolution lobby and bussines around it.
Go up one more step and give us a description about the relationship between the todays politically correct and evolutionism.
Chapter 10 : Darwinist Religion
He tries to be honest putting out the true from both sides : evolutionist and anti-evolutionistIt says very much about the author.
I love books and animals.I enjoy all sorts of genres, anything from history to supernatural.
The book is okay, but the narrator is a bad fit for this book. He might be a okay for novels but it was very difficult to listen to him narrate this book. I wish the narrator different because it distracted me from the content of the book. As for the content of the book, there were some good points. If the narrator was better I probably would have gotten more out of this.
Read (or listen to) this book. Some of the reviews offered here only present negative comments without adding any substance of their own. My recommendation...READ or LISTEN to this book and judge for yourself. Then, do further research and see how flawed and refuted evolution is. I would suggest The Priviledge Planet as a good follow-up to get the entire picture of the bogus Evolution story.
"If you are looking for well thought out arguments?"
The clear and precise way that the arguments are made, what you would expect from a Lawyer though.
None, it is pretty unique in its premise. Take the arguments to support evolution and 'put them on trial'.
Yes, very clear and he spoke as though her too were a man of law. Set the scne for the books contents very well.
Not really, the whole book seeks to show that whilst the Theory of Evolution is accepted as fact, there is actually very little evidence to support that proposition.
Whilst the authour can not be said to be impartial, the case put forward is very clear and precise as one would expect from an authour with a legal background.
"The inability of Darwinian Evolution"
This book showcases the fact that darwinian evolution lacks the very component whereby it claims to operate; the addition of new information to the genome. Written by a professor of law with an interest in the debate. A Christian but not a Young Earther. Whilr not an expert in science, is in the fiel of debate and understands the tactics used by those who want to convince others of their position.
