Publisher's summary

For decades, Christians have felt voiceless in the critical debate over evolution. Until now. Finally, ordinary Christians have the opportunity and the resources to defeat the false claims of Darwinism. With all of the complicated scientific debate swirling around the topic of evolution, Christians need an easy way to understand the basic issues without oversimplifying. Phillip Johnson has the answer: the key to defeating the false claims of Darwinism is to open our minds to good thinking habits.

Here is first-rate advice on avoiding common mistakes in discussions about evolution, understanding the legacy of the Scopes trial, spotting deceptive arguments, and grasping the basic scientific issues without getting bogged down in unnecessary details.

In the best-selling and critically acclaimed Darwin on Trial and Reason in the Balance, Phillip Johnson took on the academic elites and exposed the misleading claims of evolutionary naturalism. Defeating Darwinism by Opening Minds provides a new and powerful treatment of these issues for high-school students, parents, teachers, pastors, youth advisers, and ordinary listeners. Johnson aims not just to defeat a bad theory, but to defeat it in the right way - by opening minds to the truth.

Great Book

This explained theories well and TOTALLY DEFEATED DARWINISM! Showing how evolution is just a theory NOT a fact as we have been taught... therefore in ANYTHING and EVERYTHING you believe you must have some type of faith.

Excellent book

This is, once again, an excellent book by Phillip Johnson. I plan to buy them all for reference. His work lights up the darkness of materialistic philosophy and opens minds to the Truth that is there.

Great book, distracting reading style.

Great content, but I struggled with the reader’s style of speech the whole time. It just didn’t sound natural to me at all and was totally a distraction. But I love the book itself.

useful

it takes forever for books to appear on audible. this book is from 90s. it is still relevant even though it feels dated. i think it is still decent book for the right audience. not too technical, but has enough content to make you think and respond to a materialistic ideology.

Put Me To Sleep

The content was good. It opened alot of conversation within my family. We read it for a class and pulled it apart chapter by chapter each week. I had the worst time with the narrator though. His reading was condescending, which made the book seem less than mature. He also didn't pause enough or vary his tone enough. I listen to alot of audiobooks each year with no problem, but this one put me to sleep every time I listened.
