Ridiculous Narrator

The story was better than average for a serial mystery. The narrator lacks range for the characters and it often sounds like Moira Rose from the show Schitts Creek is reading the story. When she announces the next chapter, she says it in a way that one can imagine her rolling her eyes. Speeding up the narration is a must with this narrator.

poor narration

I was very distracted by the terrible British accent used by the American narrator. This took away from the story and likeability of the main character. It seems like such a no brainier to hire a British voice actor. I won't be reading the next books in the series because of this.

Much better than I expected

I thought this would be light and predictable. It was much better than that, and well worth a listen.

Just needs to be set to 1.5...

The story is decent, although lackluster in its resolution. I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy it, though, if I hadn’t set the speed to 1.5. Without that small tweak there were painful pauses and the narration pace seemed unusually sloth like. With the tweak, narration seemed perfectly normal and enjoyable.

Exciting!

So many twists and turns. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved the characters and the way the heroine evolved as the book progressed. If you like cozy mysteries, you will love this book. Can't wait for the next one.

Predictable plot, irritating narrator disappoint

Narrator so irritating I almost returned for refund. Pseudo-aristocratic voice and pronunciation sounds contrived and forced. I will never buy another audiobook read by this narrator. As for the story itself, it was okay but nothing special, dragged on far longer than it needed to. I found the protagonist, Lucy Lawrence, boring and annoying and completely lacking in common sense. Historical mystery is a favorite genre for me, and I will read 50 or more in a year. Sadly, No Stone Unturned was a disappointment.

Good story

I liked the story, but the narration was not good! Too cut up in her reading a sentence and too breathy.
