For Dummies and Beyond

Outstanding . Neuroscience basics covered clearly but so much more explained and explored. For Dummies yes. And students, trainees, and practicing clinicians in the wide world of health professions that neuroscience informs {medicine, nursing, psychology, psychotherapy, physical therapy, educators, and many more} Neuroscience researchers, educators, and clinicians whose speciality is entered in neuroscience could read to pick up hints how to explain their work to others.

A great book

A wonderful book that I found to be developmental and maturative for a young man coming of age such as myself. I found great relation with the author and the material. I further highly recommend this book.

painful narration

great book! lots of really good information. the only issue is the narrator. Chris Sorensen sounds like he's irritated with you. unnecessarily extending words and sounding irritated. if I didn't love neuroscience I would have asked for a refund.

Difficult Narration

Some content is out of date. Third Edition would be worth waiting for. Narration is tough to listen to.

Very informative if you can tolerate the narrator

I was pleasantly surprised that the material goes beyond skimming the surface. I studied biology and neuroscience in college many years ago and found the content to be a great refresher. I also learned a lot of new information. As for the reader, it was barely tolerable. Narrator sounded nasally, whiny, high pitched and just overall annoying.

hard to listen to

The narrator for this book makes the material sound very dry. The information is great but the voice makes it nearly impossible to listen to for an extended period of time.

Get a new narrator

The narrator speaks with such an annoying affected voice. His tone and cadence sound like he is trying to voice a cartoon character. It's so distracting and awful. Too bad because the content is great.

Awful speaker

I couldn’t get through much of the book because the voice of the speaker was so irritating. Very nasally and much of his words almost sounded as if he were humming them.
