Publisher's summary

Whether it’s monkey business, funny business, or getting down to business, Janet Evanovich’s Lizzy and Diesel series proves that there’s no business like Wicked Business....

Lizzy Tucker’s once normal life as a pastry chef in Salem, Massachusetts, turns upside down as she battles both sinister forces and an inconvenient attraction to her unnaturally talented but off-limits partner, Diesel.

When Harvard University English professor and dyed-in-the-wool romantic Gilbert Reedy is mysteriously murdered and thrown off his fourth-floor balcony, Lizzy and Diesel take up his 20-year quest for the Luxuria Stone, an ancient relic believed by some to be infused with the power of lust.

Following clues contained in a cryptic 19th-century book of sonnets, Lizzy and Diesel tear through Boston catacombs, government buildings, and multimillion-dollar residences. On their way they’ll leave behind a trail of robbed graves, public disturbances, and general mayhem.

Diesel’s black sheep cousin, Gerwulf Grimoire, also wants the Stone. His motives are far from pure, and what he plans on doing with the treasure, no one knows... but Lizzy Tucker fears she’s in his crosshairs. Never far and always watching, Grimoire has a growing, vested interest in the cupcake-baker-turned-finder-of-lost-things - as does another dangerous and dark opponent in the hunt, a devotee of lawlessness and chaos known only as Anarchy.

Treasures will be sought, and the power of lust will be unmistakable as Lizzy and Diesel attempt to stay ahead of Anarchy, Grimoire, and his medieval minion, Hatchet, in this ancient game of twisted riddles and high-stakes hide-and-seek.

Good interesting story

A very exciting story contain some magic , relationships that are close but remain plutonic. Friends help each other. The whole story is rated , PG 14 with some sexual content , but only on
The periphery most times. Very humorous but the intrigue keeps the reader amused. Very little serious violence ; enough to add some realism that keeps the reader interested has to be present so the reader has an appreciation of good and evil, but on the light side. Good wins out in the end with the need for moral compass. I enjoyed the story that injects small incidents of mild violence and sometimes humor that interspersed with mild violence and confrontations on that does not dilute the concentration of the story- line; ending makes the reader feel something important has been accomplished. This gives a boost to the general reason that the reader and the author can have a good experience and one can deduce that something moral is accomplished.

I read and own most of her number series books and now have audible for audio books while I'm busy with projects qnd stuff amd I am so in love!. Lorelei King is awesome at her reading and ability to keep voice change and stuff to keep characters apart!.

Cute and querky!

What made the experience of listening to Wicked Business the most enjoyable?

The story moved along nicely and the characters were somewhat believable.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

This is Evanovich's style of story telling, you don't really get a lot of character development in this series.

What about Lorelei King’s performance did you like?

Lorelie does a great job with changing the inflection of her voice to represent the various characters.

Fun listen

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

The book is a fun listen. Lots of crazy action and the descriptions are easy to visualize. Even a few outright belly laughs. Nice crazy normal charactors.

What does Lorelei King bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I really like the way she creates charactors by voice and inflection.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, to laughter! No real fear here. The tunnel of spiders lighted was funny.

It is what it is. . .

It's pretty much like the first Lizzy and Diesel book. It's a nice piece of fluff. I like that Diesel has his own series but I kind of miss the Holiday Plum books with Diesel. The book is short but enjoyable. Lorelei King was great, as usual.

Lizzie and Deisel sizzle.

What made the experience of listening to Wicked Business the most enjoyable?

The repartee between Lizzie and Diesel is the best part of the listening experience.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, it was riveting, and at times, it was like a light-hearted Dan Brown search and find novel.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scene with Ankeny and Lizzie in the bakery was my favorite. Flying bagels and flaming aprons, along with Lizzie's witty chatter with a clearly deranged woman are priceless.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Diesel and Lizzie are a sizzling duo.
