Police lieutenant Eve Dallas found the first victim butchered in his own home. The second lost his life in a vacant luxury apartment. The two men had little in common. Both suffered unspeakable torture before their deaths. And both had ties to an ugly secret of 10 years past - a secret shared by none other than Eve's new husband, Roarke.
Crack another case with Eve Dallas.

Another suspenseful futuristic story with Lieutenant Eve Dallas. These stories have a wonderful narrative with believeable characters that capture your attention and imagination. Pure entertainment, that keeps you wanting to read the next book.
I love reading book series from 1 to end. Two things are keeping me from continuing with this series. I have decided that the narrator is portraying Dallas' dialogue as a screamer even when she is having a normal conversation. It is grating on my ears. I am also beginning to predict the plot and while there are some interesting twists, I see the plot lines evolving to the Dallas & Roarke show and not Dallas & police dept. show. I'm done.
I've only listened to the audible format but I can't imagine reading the books now that I've listened to them. Susan Ericksen is the voice of this series for me. She does an amazing job. I've listened to a lot of books and this is by far the best narration for a series I've listened to. Superbly done Ms. Ericksen.
I'm obsessed with is series.
I love discovering new stories while driving or working in the barn, reading voraciously since I could walk. There is no genre, just magic
I have not read anything she has not done exceptionally well and Susan Ericksen does an amazing job. I have discovered so many other authors just because I chose something else she read. This book delivers on story line, excitement, fun, and mystery.
The character who commits the crime in every story she writes is what is so memorable. The answer comes at you from all angles once Eve reveals the motivation behind to atrocity.
I like all her voice character. She does an exceptional job on Roarke and Peabody though
Please make these books into movies or a sitcom.
My favorite part about this book was that we got to see more about Roarke and Summerset's past, and there were many more scenes with those characters in them. I also enjoyed the addition of McNab, I hope he turns up more in the future.
It had great pace, and the plot was wonderful. I didnt see one of the perps coming. And best of all, a great finale!
I have read all of J D Robb books on Eve Dallas and look forward to the new ones to come. LOVE THEM! I travel a lot and love the audible books and on many occasions have bought books I have already read. However, I did not like the narrator Susan Ericksen. I didn't like her voice for the J D Robb series at all!! ESPECIALLY THE VOICE SHE USED FOR DET PEABODY! SHE MADE PEABODY SOUND LIKE A DUMB DORK!!!! When I read the books I have a great respect for Peabody charature along with many others the way J D ROBB describes them and the characters they play. But the narrator ruines them! I won't buy anymore J D Robb, Eve Dallas audible books with Ms Ericksen as narrator.
I really like Summerset in this book because of the interaction between Eve and him.
Terrible, yuck, nasal.
I would Love to buy more of J D Robb aaudible books, however, because Susan Ericksen is Narrating them I will not buy anymore. I will just read them.
I wondered when I started this series why anyone would want to read book after book about the same situation. And yet, every time I order the next book, I just love it. The relationships of the characters, really knowing them and knowing what they will do for each other, keeps me moving on to the next.
Yes, I will listen to Vengeance In Death again because it holds the foundation of this series.
Roarke was my favorite in this book because he learned a lot about how much he had changed over the years and how much was the same. I loved the scene with the little boy and the glide cart.
One of the best in the series. You see how Peabody stands up as you knew she would. Summerset learns some important things about himself and Eve. Roarke is at his best and Eve shines. Don't miss this one.
Revenge is the name of the game for "Vengeance in Death". Someone is killing people that Roarke know in Dublin when he was young. Then the worse thing is that the killer is making it look like Summerset is the murder. This puts Dallas on the edge, that she has to keep Summerset out of jail for murders he did not do. Then making sure things from the past don't come out while she is trying to find the true murderer. Susan Ericksen does a great job in the narration of this story, making the character come to life. This story will keep you lessening to find out what is going to happen next.
