Police lieutenant Eve Dallas found the first victim butchered in his own home. The second lost his life in a vacant luxury apartment. The two men had little in common. Both suffered unspeakable torture before their deaths. And both had ties to an ugly secret of 10 years past - a secret shared by none other than Eve's new husband, Roarke.

Another suspenseful futuristic story with Lieutenant Eve Dallas. These stories have a wonderful narrative with believeable characters that capture your attention and imagination. Pure entertainment, that keeps you wanting to read the next book.
Absolutely fantastic, What more can a person say, very well written, did not want to put it down, even drives my family that I've read it twice now. Can't wait to start the next book.
Love Susan Erickson's portrayal of characters. She makes the story even better! Great choice with exceedingly high quality of production.
No. I don't read or listen to any book twice.
Any of the "In Death" novels. All are great.
Her voice is perfect for Eve Dallas - just enough snark and rough around the edges to make it believable.
Futuristic Cop Takes New York
Am a book reader who have to many books and to little time to do it.
Yes for I love the way that Susan Ericksen voices the characters. She keeps me into the story going, and makes you want to keep going though you may have other things to do. I've tried to read the books by themselves but I need the voices that Ericksen narrates.
I don't know there is plenty of books about a past coming to light and someone looking for vengeance.
She brings these characters to life in a different way. She has different accents for each, and so even when reading you will hear them.
The fact that this brought up Roake's past life. With only getting snippets every once in awhile. I also enjoyed the fact that they fought over it all. Eve struggled through it and try to process it as best she could.
This is my favorite book so far and couldn't stop listening/reading.
Books of every sort. Particularly paranormal mysteries, contemporary fantasy, J. d. Robb, and interesting new authors of urban. Fantasy.
Story was one of the best of the series. Characterization continues to be suburb. Particularly enjoyed the Sommerset sub-story line.
