Publisher's summary

Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is back, packing a whole lot of attitude. This time around, she's on the trail of Kenny Mancuso, a boy from the working-class burg of Trenton, New Jersey, who has just shot his best friend. Fresh out of the Army and suspiciously wealthy, Mancuso's also distantly related to Joe Morelli, a vice cop with questionable ethics, a libido in permanent overdrive, and a habit of horning in on Stephanie's investigations.

A real life Heroine

Would you listen to Two for the Dough again? Why?

Yes, the charaters are great. They seem to be real people. By no means perfect, but unlike so many other authors, Ms Evanovich realizes that flaws are what make a person interesting. There is no cookie cutter characters in this book. Honestly, it is refreshing.

What other book might you compare Two for the Dough to and why?

First Grave on the Right by D. Jones. Again the characters appears to be real people and not the same old stereotypes.

What about C. J. Critt???s performance did you like?

The individual voices make this a joy to listen to. There is no need to wonder who is speaking

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes.

Any additional comments?

This is an entertaining book.

Not Bad For a Still Greenhorn Rookie

While I may not be as big of a fan of this series, as say my family. I am entertained none the less. I admire the grit & determination of Stephanie for wanting to be better & catch the slime ball that is , so far.. her biggest pay day. my only issue is ole Grandma Mazzer. Then again, she may be part of the charm of the series.

Loved it!

SO FUNNY! Loved it! Stephanie is great — the way she interacts with others and how honest she is with herself. She’s just so real to me. The supporting characters are even more fun than they were in the first book, already so much stronger. I can hardly wait to see what happens next!

So much fun!

I have read some reviews disparaging C.J. Critt as a narrator and I cannot understand why! She gives the book so much animation and is perfect with the New Jersey accents and attitudes. I have listened to Plum novels 1-4 and have enjoyed her so much I’m afraid to listen to the newer ones with the other narrator! This is my second time listening through because this story is so fun and C.J. Critt is so enjoyable to listen to. I highly recommend if you’re looking for some light-hearted action and some good laughs!

Very entertaining story

I have read 24 Stephanie Plum books and this is the first audible in the series that I have listened to. I love this series with the action, suspense, and humor. And I love the characters so much. But I was surprised to find that I have a preconceived notion of what the voices should be like. I really had a difficult time with Morelli's voice and Ranger's voice as done by the narrator. It interfered with my love of the story. Still, it is a totally entertaining story and a mostly good narration. To me, Ranger's and Morelli's voices were barely okay. The rest of the voices were good and the performance itself was very good.

Just plain fun.

This started out for me as a series to read simply as research for my own work. I am only two books in, but I am a fan. This is just simple, plain old fun. Stephanie is at it again, and this time, her grandma is the co-star, but she steals the scene every time she shows up. Easily my favorite character.

Summer is coming, and if you want some mindless entertainment with wit and charm, this is the book series to grab.

Critt has me hooked with her Grandma voice!
