Publisher's summary

This is my family: Vanished without a trace....

Justin and Libby Denbe have the kind of life you’d find in the pages of a glossy magazine: A beautiful 14-year-old daughter. A gorgeous brownstone on a tree-lined street in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood. A great marriage, admired by all. A perfect life.

This is what I know: Pain has a flavor....

When investigator Tessa Leone arrives at the crime scene in the foyer of the Denbes’ home, she finds scuff marks on the floor and a million tiny pieces of bright green Taser confetti. The family appears to have been abducted, with only a pile of their cell phones and electronic devices remaining. No witnesses, no ransom demands, no motive. Just a perfect little family, gone.

This is what I fear: The worst is yet to come....

Tessa knows better than anyone that flawless fronts can hide the darkest secrets. Now she must race against the clock to uncover the Denbes’ innermost dealings, a complex tangle of friendships and betrayal, big business and small sacrifices. Who would want to kidnap such a perfect little family? And how far would such a person be willing to go?

This is the truth: Love, safety, family . . . it’s all touch and go.

Gruesome Kidnapping

Would you listen to Touch & Go again? Why?

No. The mystery is entertaining, but once you've read the book, all the detail of their lives and the kidnapping would make for slow reading.

Would you recommend Touch & Go to your friends? Why or why not?

Probably. It does have some interesting twists.

What about Elisabeth Rodgers’s performance did you like?

She made it very easy to identify each of the characters.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No.

Too many McGuffins ( is that a spoiler?)

It was an entertaining listen.
Back bay Boston first world problems are the driving force behind this book.
I find Ms Gardner's heroines a little too good to be true but she does write an entertaining tale.
I enjoy her stories because like any good book they take you to another world. You don't have to think too hard to enjoy them.

Classic Lisa Gardner!!!

You can't get much better than Gardner. She is one of my favorite writers. I've read all of her books, and as usual, she doesn't dissapoint! Great who done it. Just when you think you've got it figured out, she throws you another curve ball. Thank you Lisa Gardner for consistantly writing amazing mystery/thrillers. My only complaint is having to wait for her next masterpiece.

Hmmm

Way too many references to "my husband" and "my daughter." The references to the heroine's memories of Justin with her is overdone.

Great mystery.

I really didn't know Whodunnit until almost the very end. I wondered a time or two but I really didn't believe the one who did it, did it. I do have one complaint I guess. the author used the word hence a little bit more frequently then would be used in normal language. I know that there are some people who will use a word like that and it's just a part of their vocabulary however at least three if not four or maybe even five of the characters in this novel used or thought the word hence. It just bothered me. Other than that I thought the characters were great, the plot really riveting and the outcome a little sad but truly superb.

Meh.. Very average.

Gardner's books can't be expected to turn out to be groundbreaking discoveries, I get it. But this one's extremely predictable plot was a disappointment.

Very edgy

I was in suspense the whole time and did not know what was going to happen since everything changed with each revelation. The ending was also a surprise.

Beach reading

What did you like best about Touch & Go? What did you like least?

It was a good overall, I saw the twist coming early in the book but that didn't make me stop listening as I hoped there would be another twist, but there was not. Entertaining enough to listen to or read on the beach or while on the treadmill.

Would you be willing to try another book from Lisa Gardner? Why or why not?

Yes, I like her style and pace. I would try another of her books.
