Publisher's summary

This is my family: Vanished without a trace....

Justin and Libby Denbe have the kind of life you’d find in the pages of a glossy magazine: A beautiful 14-year-old daughter. A gorgeous brownstone on a tree-lined street in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood. A great marriage, admired by all. A perfect life.

This is what I know: Pain has a flavor....

When investigator Tessa Leone arrives at the crime scene in the foyer of the Denbes’ home, she finds scuff marks on the floor and a million tiny pieces of bright green Taser confetti. The family appears to have been abducted, with only a pile of their cell phones and electronic devices remaining. No witnesses, no ransom demands, no motive. Just a perfect little family, gone.

This is what I fear: The worst is yet to come....

Tessa knows better than anyone that flawless fronts can hide the darkest secrets. Now she must race against the clock to uncover the Denbes’ innermost dealings, a complex tangle of friendships and betrayal, big business and small sacrifices. Who would want to kidnap such a perfect little family? And how far would such a person be willing to go?

This is the truth: Love, safety, family . . . it’s all touch and go.

Suspenseful

This is my second book by Lisa Gardner and even though the were both part of different series they both could stand alone. This story was about the owner of a 100 million dollar business and how he, his wife and his daughter were abducted from their very secure, upperclass home, leaving virtually no evidence to follow. The board of his company hires an independent investigator and she starts to gather information while trying to work with the local PD and the FBI, who can be less than helpful to a private entity. When there is a break in the case and they find a locator jacket that the man was wearing, layers of the suspects deception start to unravel.

The owner has a reputation with the ladies, the wife has a drug addiction and the daughter has a deep secret that if discovered will tear everything apart. When there is no ransom demand the investigators start to wonder if this is a rescue or recovery mission. Many suspects with different motives make it hard to dig through what is and isn't relative to the abduction.

The continuous story changes kept me guessing until the end. A great, action packed suspense drama that will bring me back to more of Lisa Gardner's mystery thrillers and the great narration of Elizabeth Rodgers.

Entertaining Book! Page Turner

This was my first Lisa Gardner book. I very much enjoyed it. I enjoyed the story and the narration. The first half was a little slow but still interesting. The 2nd half was a page turner. I was able to figure out the 'who done it' 3/4 of the way through, but it was still intriguing to finish the book. I've read other reviews for Lisa Gardner and most seem to really like her books but I saw lots of complaints about the narrators. This narrator was pretty good. I recommend this book!!
I am looking for other Gardner novels....

Lisa Gardner out does her self!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, The characters are well done and it keeps you on your toes with the various character roles being read and played out at the same time.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Touch & Go?

When Tessa has the gun to Chris Lopez' head, and then realizes what is really going on!

Have you listened to any of Elisabeth Rodgers’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no, but I plan too!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Ashlyn Miscarries and Lilly realizes how out of it she has been!

Wore my headphones for an entire weekend!

This is my first Lisa Gardner novel and it won't be my last. Being from Boston, I loved all of the local references and the story (although I figured out the "who done it" rather early), it kept me second guessing myself to the end. I liked that!

The narrator was great when speaking in the "Libby or Ashlynn" role. Her male voices not so great (I can imagine that is difficult to pull off). Her Boston accent is terrible especially in the Tessa Leone role. Being from Boston, I am a harsh critic of fake accents!

If you want a suspense fiction that will keep you captivated to the end, Touch and Go is for you!

Clever kidnapping plot!!

Very entertaining as well as suspenseful. However, I did figure out it was husband. Why take a dead body. Kidnappers knew too much which indicated an inside job. Especially when she changed the code of security system. Still, it was very good plot

It was an unusual plot and story line. I loved it.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes it did. It was a great story and not very predictable!!

Any additional comments?

This was a very well written and performed thriller. It kept me guessing right up to the end. Can't wait to read her other books.

Figured out the plot too early

Would you try another book from Lisa Gardner and/or Elisabeth Rodgers?

I was really disappointed in this one. I figured out who did it long before the end of the novel and didn't find the characters to be terribly sympathetic or well-developed. Narration was pretty good, but several of the affected accents were sometimes distracting. Overall, not happy with this one. Sorry I can't give it a better review.

Would you be willing to try another book from Lisa Gardner? Why or why not?

Based on this one, probably not.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

While I really liked her voice overall, I found some of the accents distracting.

Was Touch & Go worth the listening time?

No.
