Publisher's summary

This is my family: Vanished without a trace....

Justin and Libby Denbe have the kind of life you’d find in the pages of a glossy magazine: A beautiful 14-year-old daughter. A gorgeous brownstone on a tree-lined street in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood. A great marriage, admired by all. A perfect life.

This is what I know: Pain has a flavor....

When investigator Tessa Leone arrives at the crime scene in the foyer of the Denbes’ home, she finds scuff marks on the floor and a million tiny pieces of bright green Taser confetti. The family appears to have been abducted, with only a pile of their cell phones and electronic devices remaining. No witnesses, no ransom demands, no motive. Just a perfect little family, gone.

This is what I fear: The worst is yet to come....

Tessa knows better than anyone that flawless fronts can hide the darkest secrets. Now she must race against the clock to uncover the Denbes’ innermost dealings, a complex tangle of friendships and betrayal, big business and small sacrifices. Who would want to kidnap such a perfect little family? And how far would such a person be willing to go?

This is the truth: Love, safety, family . . . it’s all touch and go.

Great book

Would you consider the audio edition of Touch & Go to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the print version, so I'm not sure. I enjoy listening to my books as I travel in my job, and while I do my chores. It is a great way to keep up with my favorite authors

What did you like best about this story?

The ending, though I had it figured out about 3/4 through the book.

Which character – as performed by Elisabeth Rodgers – was your favorite?

Probably Ashlin. I admired her spunk.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did get hooked on it in a couple of places and carried it in to the house and just sat and listened.

Any additional comments?

I would like this author to write more mysteries, and less romance. She is very good.

Slow at the start, gripping end

What did you love best about Touch & Go?

Twists and turns are everywhere. You think you have it figured out then you are baffled by what you didn't realize.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The detective because she used her own experiences to solve the mystery. Her back story adds to the story.

Have you listened to any of Elisabeth Rodgers’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first, but not my last!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending was a shock and well worth waiting for. It blew me away.

Good story with lots of twists and surprises

What did you like best about this story?

I love stories where there is a good mystery or problem that needs to be solved. This one had lots of interesting surprises clear to the end.

What does Elisabeth Rodgers bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator does okay but is not one of my favorites. This is one of her better reads for me.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This was definitely a story that made me want to keep listening, even when I knew I had to stop!

Any additional comments?

Lisa Gardener does a great job developing her characters.

Highly recommend

Have been a fan of Lisa Gardner for some time. This book offers a great story and the narration is spot on. The building of complete, flawed, sad,and successful characters and families can be tricky, but not for Gardner. Good verses evil but only partially predictable ending. Twists until the very end.

No, No, No

I so did not want my "who" to really be the who done it. I wanted this to be a better ending book. Alas, in the steps of Gone Girl, I was to be disappointed. Liked the book. Really liked the book but came away at the end a little deflated. It is not a bad thing for a book to take you on a ride so you actually care. I cared...sigh.

Full of suspense

I was not sure how great this book was going to be due to some of the reviews but I thought it was great. It was full of suspense and kept you guessing until the end. Every time I thought I had it figured out, something would change. It was a great book and well worth my time.

Not Lisa Gardner's best novel.

What did you like best about Touch & Go? What did you like least?

Best: Still Lisa Gardner's work, kept her bar.
Worst: I read 3 of Lisa Gardner's books already, this is by far the most weak one. Her works are usually full of technical information about law enforcement, in terms of skills, equipment, or rules, and multiple lines in the story -- my favorite things about her work, cool analysis, instead of drama and violence. But this one is all about a monologue of a house wife about her life's trouble, on and on. Getting old and boring really quick for me. The story is not layered, and I actually guessed the trick. Maybe 3 is the charm, and I am just getting bored of a same author. But if it is your first time reading Lisa Gardner, choose "love you more". I listened it many times.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I will probably still go for a Lisa Gardner novel, because I am familiar with the characters already.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Yes. A little too dramatic for me, but I don't blame her. It is the author who gets on my nerve, not the narrator.

Was Touch & Go worth the listening time?

Not really.
