I have read/listened to almost all of Baldacci's. This narrater was a poor fit with his voice and inflections. The story dragged on for a bit during the first half but all in all it was an entertaining book.
I am a fan of David Baldacci and this book won't cause me to give up on him, but I specifically would not order another audiobook narrated by Jonathan Marosz. The "acted" lines are performed OK, but the narrated lines are delivered in a very unusual and predictable cadence--I found it very distracting / annoying, from beginning to end.
I came back here to see if other people had commented on this, partially out of curiosity and thinking that perhaps I was being overly critical... I see now that it's not just me! (I only wish I read the reviews before buying this!)
I feel like I have been listening to this book for a year now! It is far too long with far too many people and complications. I finally gave up about Chapter 17 or 18 and skipped to the end. I just couldn't listen to any more bad stuff happening to that poor woman!
One of the worst books i have listened to no plot development . Terrible narration. Just a bunch of events and tons of characters that just really don't add up . Hated this one . I cannot recommend it .
Loved it@!!!! Good switching offbeat plot with realistic characters, but a bit of a stretch on Loyalty of FBI AGENTS.
The Narrator made it impossible to concentrate on the actual story.
Yes, just not by this narrator.
Absolutely NOT!! I'm sorry, but his voice was not made for audio books.
Disappointment. I love David Balducci, but I just could not for the life of me get past the terrible narration.
Not up to his usual excellence; maybe because it was still early in his career. Too many plot holes and inconsistencies, even at the climactic scene in the bluffs.
