Great story keeps you wondering. The bad guy was super creepy and the narrator made his laugh send chills down my spine.

What did you love best about The Watcher?

Nothing. This book was too real to me. I had to make myself finish listening to it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I didn't really have a favorite character in this novel, which is a first in my entire life.

What does Robert Forge bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I can't honestly say. I didn't like the story, far too gruesome for me, too much violence against the innocent and helpless.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, not at all. I finished it because I had to know how it ended, if the watcher was ever brought to justice.

    Any additional comments?

I don't mean for this to be so negative, it is simply not the kind of book I expected it to be. I have a problem with abuse and with people who prey upon others who are weaker. This book is too real. The experiences could be factual. My main reason for reading is to be entertained, to enjoy, have fun, get caught up in the story, and this book was not any of things for me. It isn't a bad book or narration, it is just not my kind of book. I hope that helps.

    "Worth A Listen"

I didn't warm up to the characters, and there was a lot of angst in secrets they hid from each other but I thought the story was pretty good. A bit too graphic in some of the violence and love-making, but didn't put me off enough to make me not enjoy the story.

I would probably read another at some time, but I'm not rushing out to look for sequels.

Narration was unobtrusive which is the way I like it. I caught one editing error but only one so that was fine.

"Would have been 4 stars but sex got in the way!"

Not a bad story, with good characters, but the story kept taking a back seat to the author's need to turn this into a steamy sex novel. I found it hard to believe that anyone as driven as Kate was to find this killer could continually get so derailed by working with a sexy partner. Could have been a much better book with a more subtle approach to the couple's sexual escapades.

"Love and mystery in a simple setting...."

This book is very fast reading. If you are looking for a simple romance with a little mystery this is what you want.

I was hoping for more and was bored half way through. It would be good book to read on a short flight somewhere.
