Publisher's summary

CIA counterterrorism operative Mitch Rapp falls prey to government forces with an agenda of their own after Dr. Irene Kennedy is named the successor to dying CIA Director Thomas Stansfield—a choice that enrages many inside the world’s most powerful intelligence agency. Her detractors will resort to extreme measures to prevent her from taking the reins—which makes Rapp an expendable asset. But Mitch Rapp is no one’s pawn, and he will stop at nothing to find out who has set him up.

Hear Mitch Rapp, the CIA's top operative, battle global terrorism in more of Vince Flynn's political thrillers.

Weird ending

Overall I'm enjoying the Mitch Rap series. I felt that the ending in this book just dropped you. Kind of strange for me. I'm hoping that the next book in the series picks up where this one just dropped.

Thrilling

This was one of the better books in this series that I have read. It's almost predictable but just when you think you know what happens next you get thrown for a loop.

Good third book

Need the prequels. Carried on a great series. So glad to have Anna in the story. Sullivan is perfect for the series.

Excellent Narrative and Story

So far my favorite Mitch Rapp Novel. It flowed smoothly from start to finish and Nick Sullivan was once again dynamic and clear.

Distracting narration

This narrator distracted from the story- incorrect pronunciation of 2 names and a few of his "voices" were very annoying.

An entertaining spy thriller

Would you listen to The Third Option again? Why?

I have listened to it twice already. The Mitch Rapp series are great books to listen to on long commutes.

Have you listened to any of Nick Sullivan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

He has done well in all the books I have listened. He does well to change his inflection or accent for each character and you can hear the emotion in his voice.

Worth it

While not quite as charismatic as Guidall, the narrator was pretty good. The "lack of an ending" is nothing like that, just that the thread continues in the next book.
