They don't know yet about a mysterious and ruthless man called "Mr. Brown," or the beautiful but sinister older woman who knows all about Jane Finn...and therefore must die.

"Nadia May reads with her usual charging enthusiasm....She enlivens the repartee between the two leads, relishes the other characters and enjoys herself immensely." (AudioFile)
The story itself isn't as captivating as other novels by Agatha Christie. I would even go as far as to say that the end is quite obvious even - something one definitely isn't used to.
Also, I was not quite happy with Nadia May's performance as I was somewhat annoyed by her voice (this is certainly a taste issue - you should listen closely to the preview) and I think she could have put more effort into intonation and modulation.
Still. The Secret adversary is entertaining and lives of its funny parts, but the obvious story and the IMHO sub-par narrating performance would make me recommend this only for people interested in going through all of Christies work.
The hilarity of the almost stumbling nature Tommy and Tuppence coupled with their ability to find trouble and work through mysteries is positively wonderful! Christie has great characters who are so far-removed from Poirot and Marple. They are young and energetic and delightful! Nadia May does a brilliant job of performing this book!
I'm not sure I have a book against which I can really compare it.
Fantastic performance! Ms. May really understand the characters and understands Christie's style of writing. She has a great diversity of voices and is truly a brilliant performer! She is one of only three performers from whom I will listen to a Christie novel (the other two being Hugh Fraser and Richard E. Grant)
Great book, great performance, a must-read!
Retired RN High end of middle age or short end of old age! Adore Christian fiction, sci-fi fantasy, and mysteries.
She didn't bring the characters to life.
The Tommy and Tuppence series is a great read.
It's one of Agatha Christie's best; however, I don't recommend this reading.
It was a pleasant story to listen to. It isn't one of the greatest of the Christie stories however its still a good listen.
Tommy and Tuppence are a pair of typically Christie busibodies. They are entertaining in their own inimitable ways. Though in parts the story is predicable the characters do assist in holding the storyline up.
Not too bad, it was pleasant to listen to and she does definately enjoy her roles.
"one of Agatha's best"
Suspense all through
Tuppence, even although the character was supposed to be young lady with limited exposure to the outside world (clergyman's daughter} her portrayal was very believable.
enjoyed listening to it again and I am sure will again.
Nadia May used her voice very effectively for the female characters and was able to lower it enough for the male parts not to be distracting.
