As the youngest of the five Walsh girls, Helen has had a tough time finding her way in the world. At 33, her job as a private investigator has proven less than fruitful and after losing her apartment, she’s moved back in with Mammy Walsh. In desperation, Helen takes on a case to locate the missing member of a once wildly popular boy band. The only hitch is that she has to work with her ex-boyfriend.
Marian Keyes’s newest novel is a charming, bittersweet story about a woman trying to work her way back from the depths of despair.

I cannot say enough good things about Marian Keyes. I love her character development; her insight into depression and anxiety. Reading her books is comforting and laugh out loud funny all at the same time. I only wish she wrote more books, as I have read every single one.
This story definitely wasn't what I was expecting and in a good way. For those who are fans of the Walsh sisters stories by Marian Keyes, we've all gotten snippets of Helen Walsh's personality and have been entertained by her strong, don't-give-a-crap personality. It's been a long wait for a whole novel about the youngest Walsh. However, it was a surprise to discover that she's not quite as strong as we all previously thought, and this creates a closeness, an empathy for this character. While in the midst of investigating a missing person's case, she is constantly fighting her own demons and hell, most of us can relate to the stress of having to get the job done when you'd rather just crawl back into bed in a nice dark room. Keyes' signature talent for blending humor with difficult human situations and emotions made this book yet another enjoyable read. What's next for the Walsh family?
This book just needed some editing. Actually quite a bit of editing.
I've listened to a number of Keyes's books and really enjoyed Sushi for Beginners, Rachel's Holiday and The Brightest Star. But this just rambled on and on, making me wish I could fast forward (not safe while driving).
Helen Walsh was great. I love her sarcasm and her no nonsense attitude. It was finally great to have her as the star of the story.
Excellent narration, she seem to capture the spirit of each character. She could read the phone book and I would listen.
Love most books by Marian Keyes. Especially any of the stories of the Walsh sisters. Like I said earlier I am so glad she finally did a story about Helen.
I'm usually a big fan of Marian Keyes. Her stories are entertaining, have interesting characters who have interesting relationships. I was really disappointed in "The Mystery of Mercy Close". I went through half of the book and still didn't care about any of the characters. More than that, I didn't like them at all. If a character wasn't a jerk, they were just flat. I'm not off Marian Keyes altogether, but I don't recommend this one at all.
I am a total audiobook addict! I travel quite a bit for work and listen to them while I drive. Always searching for a good author to follow
I love the Walsh family
Helen, she is such a diverse character. I always enjoyed her in the other books
She is great to listen to and I have listened to many of her performances
I had a few laugh out loud moments and a few sad moments through this book
I want another Walsh story! I really enjoy them
Patti C Fulmer
Love this character and cheered her on all the way through. Looking forward to reading other books about the Walsh clan.
Yes, I like the book because M. Keyes has the gift of telling funny stories that resonate with real family life in only that absurd way that family life actually is when nobody is watching.
All the best moments of the always seem to revolve around her parents. And a couple with the Laddz.
Caroline brings great timing with the quips in the book.
Moved me to hold my belly from laughing - too many to count.
I want more Walsh family drama!!!
The narrator was pretty good, but spoke in an English accent (or maybe supposed to be Irish) which was not something I'm used to so I don't know if that contributed to the fact that I just couldn't get into the book. I quit on it after several chapters.
