Publisher's summary

In a daring and chilling debut, Brad Thor draws us into a sinister labyrinth of political intrigue and international terrorism, serving up an explosive cocktail of unrelenting action as one man is pushed to the edge.

On the snow-covered slopes of Utah, the unthinkable has just become a nightmarish reality: 30 Secret Service agents have been viciously executed and the vacationing president of the United States kidnapped by one of the most lethal terrorist organizations in the Middle East - the Fatah Revolutionary Council.

But surviving agent and ex-Navy SEAL Scot Harvath doesn't believe the Fatah Revolutionary Council is responsible for the attack. Driven by his professional code of duty and honor, Harvath creates his own rules to get some answers. But his search for the truth raises the blood pressure of his superiors...and casts his own life in mortal jeopardy. The deadly machinations have been set in motion by a shadowy coalition, comprising some of the highest-ranking officials in government and business - men who operate above the law, men who realize the threat Harvath poses to their hidden agenda...men who will do anything to stop him.

Framed for murder and on the run, Harvath takes his own brand of justice to the towering mountains of Switzerland where he finds an improbable ally in the beautiful Claudia Mueller of the Swiss Federal Attorney's Office. Together they must brave the subzero temperatures and sheer heights of treacherous Mount Pilatus - and enter the den of the most notorious team of professional killers the world has ever known.

The Main character is SO AMAZING- Just ask him!

Would you try another book from Brad Thor and/or Armand Schultz?

No, while I don't think it's fair for me to judge something or someone if I can't do better myself, the vast majority of authors I listen to are far better.

What was most disappointing about Brad Thor’s story?

The main character constantly telling me how great he was. And his 'I'm better than everyone else attitude

What does Armand Schultz bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I don't read books 'cause it gives me headaches due to eye conditions. He was a good listen but not the best. Nothing bad to say about him.

Could you see The Lions of Lucerne being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Yes without the arrogance of the main character

Any additional comments?

I'm not giving it a good rating but I stuck around long enough to finish it, so there's that...

Action, suspense, mystery all wrapped up in one!

Enjoyed the suspense with the action of the story. Mystery of week is on what side amid following through to wrap it all up was well done.

I liked the ending

What did you like best about The Lions of Lucerne? What did you like least?

The ending

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The kidnapping of the President, and leaving of Utah

Which scene was your favorite?

Digging out of the land side.

Do you think The Lions of Lucerne needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Maybe, it is alittle predictable.

Any additional comments?

I like Brad Thor ,is very good, he writes without sex. W.E.B Griffin and someothers can't do that

great idea, but poorly written

This book has an interesting premise, but struggles in so many areas (dialog between Scott and any superior, Scott trusting every person he comes in contact with, enemies who took target practice from storm troopers, false/stereotypical narratives about Motmons, impossible storylines {how did the bad guys escape the mountain during an avalanche?}, etc).

There were several points that I wanted to stop listening, but i kept going. i could see that the writer was new and was working out his kinks and that this series might go somewhere. thus far, this series is one i will pick up only while i wait for the next Mitch Rapp book

Exciting

Non stop action. Interesting plot and enjoyed the narration. Kept the drama without overdoing the tone.
