Publisher's summary

In New York Times best-selling author Wendy Corsi Staub's electrifying new thriller, a mother races to save her daughter before her darkest nightmare comes true.

Sacred Sisters Catholic girls' school has hardly changed since Jen Archer was a student. Jen hoped her older daughter would thrive here. Instead, shy and studious Carley becomes the target of vicious bullies. But the real danger at Sacred Sisters goes much deeper.

The only person Carley can talk to is "Angel", a kindred spirit she met online. Carley tells Angel everything - about her younger sister, about school, about the sudden death of her former best friend. Angel is her lifeline. And Angel is closer than she knows.

When another schoolgirl is found dead, Jen's unease grows. There are too many coincidences, too many links to her past. Every instinct tells her that Carley is the next target. For someone is intent on punishing the guilty, teaching the ultimate lesson in how to fear...and how to die.

This was an okay book

I don't regret listening to this one, however, it was not a great book. It was just average. Everything about it was average. If you don't have anything you want to listen to and you like a nice little scary mystery than go for it. If you are looking for something you will think about long after the book is done, then this is not the one for you.

Juvenile

For me there was no suspense at all, a lesson in giving too much information on the internet, and the strongest word in the entire book was "shit"!

I would recommend this book to 13-14-yr-olds, but if you are older than that it won't hold your interest. This book is more about the insecurities of young teens and less about the sins of the parents. I kept reading and reading, waiting for the suspense, waiting for the plot to grow and reveal itself. The suspense never came and the plot (plot?) waited to the end of the book to be revealed.

I think a parent of pre and early teen girls may recommend this to their daughters as a lesson in the real-life evils of the internet.

Carrie the movie

What did you like best about The Good Sister? What did you like least?

I liked the mystery and suspense. Every now and then I was thinking how this was the movie Carrie all over again. It ends differently of course. It was still entertaining and spot on for the type of book I was in the mood for at the time. Very real life-dealing with bullying and mysterious on-line friends who are really predators.

Would you be willing to try another book from Wendy Corsi Staub? Why or why not?

Yes I would try another book-author shows promise.

Have you listened to any of Allyson Ryan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not-I thought the narrator was good.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

I would rent-not a box office hit, but a good thriller.
