"I just couldn't put down this book! It's 5AM here!"

I love Baldacci, Sandford and Lee Child. If you are into those authors as well you won't be disappointed. Also duo Oralgh Cassidy and Ron McLarty works great building atmosphere and tension. I hope they will read together more and more books. The only part of the book lacking a little bit is the ending, but still I recommend this book.

My second Baldacci book and I'm going to find many more, the characters, story line and pace were good and I simply couldn't make this book last by only listening in the car...

"David Baldacci in his worst moment until now"
What would have made The Forgotten: John Puller, Book 2 better?

I simple wouldn't write it. It seems in some moments that Baldacci is outsourcing his writing.

Would you ever listen to anything by David Baldacci again?

I suppose so. I like his books, but this one was awful.

What about Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy ’s performance did you like?

They are very good narrators and saved the book.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Disappointment.

    Any additional comments?

I hope Baldacci returns to being himself. The characters of this books are so shallow I don't have any empathy with them.

"Loved my first David Baldacci book"
What did you love best about The Forgotten?

The story was fast paced and I particularly liked the readers, Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy. I also enjoyed the sound effects , haven't experienced this before in an audible book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Forgotten?

    The ending was very exciting.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The shoot out on the ocean rig platform

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    No I like my sleep.

    Any additional comments?

I liked the idea of two readers, doing the male and female parts. I also loved the music and sound effects throughout the book. Made it very realistic. I was very impressed with this production.

"A shocking story, thank goodness it is fiction"
What did you love best about The Forgotten?

Although the premise for the book is a very sad one, the depth of the characters keeps you listening and rooting for John Puller to uncover the truth

Who was your favorite character and why?

John Puller , I can see why David Baldacci used him again

What about Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy ’s performance did you like?

This pair are my favourite narrators, I much prefer books that have male voices for male characters and female voices for female characters, you feel so much more connected to the characters.

    "ok story, but irritating background"

Every time there was any 'action', there were sound effects .... namely gun shots, fights, an explosion. This was just SO annoying. On top of that there was a 'frantic music' soundtrack that I assume was supposed to create a tense atmosphere. I nearly stopped listening because of this, but held on and saw it through to the end. The story wasn't bad, but my enjoyment, and impressions are coloured by the irritation factor.

    "The Forgotten"

I love this second book in the Puller series and do hope that there will be more about this character.

The book is responsible for much missed sleep as I read it in two evenings it was a good storyline with many twists and turns and I found the characters engaging and the narration was a good match for me.

    "Okay but not great"

The content itself is okay, but nothing spectacular, plus the womans voice is very annoying and inconsistent - I cant tell the difference between the general, the child or the cop, and her voice lacks conviction. The guy however does a reasonably good job.

    "Odd narrative style"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

    Depends on the friend

Did Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy do a good job differentiating each of the characters? How?

Well I suppose they did, but throughout when the male narrator's voice changing (according to the character) to the woman's voice, I found this a jarring shock. It should have been just the one person reading, like when you have a book read to you, that's why I like audio books. I avoid dramatisations as I do not enjoy them at all (often too much of the BBC Radio 4 screaming and baying and bing-bangings). I also found the background intermittent sound effects disconcerting, at one point I thought I was about to be run over by a bus in my garden... so a delivery style that leaves the wonderful, simple narrator format towards sounding more "dramatic" is a minus as far as I'm concerned.

    "Annoying Background Noises"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes I would recommend this book, but not as an audio book. I have only just bought it, listened to 5 mins of it and was going to return is as there was something wrong with the sound - an annoying low humming in the background. I put it on to another chapter to see if it continued all the way through the book and it doesn't. It was then that I figured out that we were supposed to hear the hum like we were on the boat. Not good and very very annoying!!!!!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Forgotten: John Puller, Book 2?

Not finished it yet - I was just so annoyed with the humming I had to write a review.

What didn’t you like about Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy ’s performance?

Orlaghs voice is a bit annoying.

Was The Forgotten: John Puller, Book 2 worth the listening time?

Yes as it's a great story (read it a couple of years ago and wanted to 're-read' it which is why I bought the audiobook.)

    Any additional comments?

Nope only the annoying humming in the beginning. I will write another review when I have finished it.

    "Another winner, David!"
Would you listen to The Forgotten: John Puller, Book 2 again? Why?

Doubtful. I don't usually listen to the same book twice.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Puller, of course. He is always so determined to get to the bottom of things, in his own, quiet way.

What does Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

As with all their work, they really do bring the story to life. I find their voices so easy to listen to.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No one particular emotion. I just enjoyed the whole book.

    "Fantastic Listen"

I would thoroughly recommend this book. Sometimes such stories can become a little 'same-ie', but this had you gripped from start to finish. The only comment I would make was the music was not really necessary, but it didn't detract from an excellent story.

The story is as "on the edge" as you can get in fiction book.... great fun

James bond 007 because he can do the impossible, that might just be possible..

Ron has a strong convincing tone to his voice, Orlagh, has a great supporting role.
