Publisher's summary

The outstanding new Fargo adventure from the number-one New York Times best-selling author.

Baffin Island: Husband-and-wife team Sami and Remi Fargo are on a climate-control expedition in the Arctic, when to their astonishment they discover a Viking ship in the ice, perfectly preserved - and filled with pre-Columbian artifacts from Mexico.

How can that be? As they plunge into their research, tantalizing clues about a link between the Vikings and the legendary Toltec feathered serpent god Quetzalcoatl - and a fabled object known as the Eye of Heaven - begin to emerge. But so do many dangerous people. Soon the Fargos find themselves on the run through jungles, temples, and secret tombs, caught between treasure hunters, crime cartels, and those with a far more personal motivation for stopping them. At the end of the road will be the solution to a thousand-year-old mystery - or death.

Another good Fargo adventure!

The great story and reading made it easy to get lost in as I listen. It was good from start to finish.

Good, but not as much as the first few

Seems like the character portrayal was different in this book than the priors. Don't know if it's because of the co-writer or what. Nonetheless, it was still entertaining.

I love the combo of Scott Brick and Clive Cussler.

What made the experience of listening to The Eye of Heaven the most enjoyable?

I am enjoying the writing more than the past few Fargo books that I did not consider to be as good as the other co-written Cussler novels. This one so far is exciting and fun. Not too much tension (which I like) but good stuff. I know that Scott has a distinctive style but he is so perfect for the Cussler Series that I can't imagine anyone else reading it. Just love their work together.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

So far - yes. I'm only a couple of chapters in and hope I'm in for a long book!

Which character – as performed by Scott Brick – was your favorite?

Why Remi - of course!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Always - even a 'sub-par' Cussler is a very fun time and this one does not appear to be sub par in any way (at least so far).

Any additional comments?

I recommend any and everything written by Cussler. I keep a few audio versions of his books on my phone at all times, just to have something that I enjoy anywhere I go. Love it!

good plot, some weak points of dialogue.

What did you love best about The Eye of Heaven?

The story/plot line was fun, although a bit formulaic.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The introduction of Laslo.

The banter between the Fargos, usually a favorite part of the characters, but this time stale, forced and overdone.

Which scene was your favorite?

the final battle.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

no it was pretty standard. As I said I like the characters, this book just seemed a bit churned out, not as inspired as the others in the series.

Any additional comments?

As always Scott Brick does an outstanding job with the narration.
