Jake Bronson’s life is back to normal, until...
Following on from the events in ‘Brainrush’ Jake Bronson’s life is back to normal, until a terrorist tries to get payback for what Jake did at the end of the last book. Aware that all is not ok, Jake and his friends are hunted by an enemy they thought to be dead. This time the evil terrorist has even more sinister plans in store, not only do they want to make Jake pay but they are on American soil and about to release a toxin that will change America forever. When Jake finds out the extent of the plans, he and his gang of misfits make unlikely alliances in order to neutralise the threat….but will they make it on time?
I think I may be slightly in love with Jake Bronson – he is a hero everyone can support, he cares for his friends and family, willing to do whatever it takes to make them safe. Richard Bard is fast becoming one of my favourite authors, he really knows how to weave a fun and action-packed story. He has such a way with words that you cannot help but care for and identify with the characters. Although I’m not too fond with how he ends the books – It makes me crave the next audio book, thankfully I have the next one ready to go.
R.C.Bray is on fine form in this audio book, he has a great ability to grab the listener’s attention and not let go. I’ll be honest, I have done absolutely nothing today but listen to this audio book, that’s over 10 heavenly hours of enjoyment. The production is flawless and the addition of the music at the beginning and end of the audio book adds an air of suspense. If you haven’t yet spent any time with Mr. Bray may I suggest you start, it really is a fun experience. Start with the first book in this series though.

As good as the first novel
Ive come to enjoy R C Bray's reaading ..both the first book in this new ?series?trillogy? Whatever they turn out to be..and the writing is tight, though not all the questions get answered and of course there is. Clifhanger at the end of this book. Also.
Worth the credit, and. for me it's a book I'll listen to again in a year or so before I but book 3.

Be prepared for a 10 hour adrenalin rush!!
Brainrush I was awesome. Brainrush II is "off the graph" - Wish I could have rated this higher than a five in all categories. For those of you old enough to remember the Saturday Morning "Cliffhangers" at the local movie theater: This book has enough cliffhangers in it to fill about 300 movie clips. Our Hero and his entourage find themselves in more impossible events than possible to count. Thank goodness the "rabbit comes out of the hat" just in time. Listened to this book virtually non-stop except for a few hours of sleep. Can't wait for the sequel. This narrator is also terrific. Hard to believe there is just one narrator involved. He is a total genius and I'll be looking for more books narrated by RC Bray. Plot was good. Characters well-defined and plausible. Hope to see many more books of the same genre from this author and narrator!! You definitely will not be disappointed!!

Exhausting
What about R. C. Bray’s performance did you like?
I liked how he did the voice of the bad guy. It had to have hurt, but it sounded really cool and true to the story description.
Any additional comments?
The story was action scene after action scene with our hero barely getting out of each scrape, sometimes pretty miraculously, most of the time just way over the top. It was fun at first, but by the end of the book I just wanted it to be over. I was exhausted from the endless series of narrow escapes and tough guy attitude. In the second novel I was expecting a litte more character depth and development. Instead it seemed to be more of the same as the first novel with few new developments other than lots of action.

Entertaining for the Most Part
This book was about the same as the first one in terms of suspense, interest, action, etc. Not a waste of a credit, but nothing to rave and carry on about either.
I would definitely recommend reading the books in order, though I've either forgotten parts of the first book or they weren't presented, because there are details brought out in this sequel that made me think "wait, where were they in the first book." Unfortunately, some of those details are the kinds that put me off in a book. For example, here's the protagonist with a mother and sister somewhere (again, not much detail) yet the terrorist go after the family of an ancillary character. Picky details but to me it is those details that separate an OK book from a stellar book.
But I digress. This book ends such that yet another sequel is no doubt in the making...but I suppose I'll get that one, too, as they have all been worth the credit so far.
