Publisher's summary

Back in Pickax, Jim Qwilleran expects to resume a quiet life, but the people and animals of Pickax have other ideas. A noisy cardinal wakes him every morning. Nosy neighbors drop by uninvited, and the Siamese misbehave, even sneezing on guests. As if they weren't bad enough, Qwill's long-time companion acts as though she is in love, with another man.

But worst of all, Qwill finds a body in his apple orchard. When Qwill's friend becomes the chief suspect, he embarks on a crusade to clear Dennis Hough's name and win back Polly Duncan's heart. Even Koko sniffs out a few clues. But will their efforts be too little too late? Not even Koko knows for sure in the quirky, engaging romp through Moose County.

Love this series!

Having already known about the stories, and having listened to them from CDs in the past rented from the library, I already knew I was going to love what I bought from Audible. I love this series because of the characters, the situations, the storyline, and the settings. The man who reads this is George Guidell; I am unsure of how to spell his last name. I really, really enjoyed listening to his voice. It's calming, and at the same time, gives life to every single character within the story. I fully intend on getting more in this series to listen to!

Another great Cat Who book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I will always recommend the Cat Who series. It is very well narrated. This is I think the third book that I have listened to that George did and he is great every time. I like how the story is so easy to picture happening in your head as it is written.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Koko is my favorite in all of the books. He is so very smart, makes me pay attention to my dog a little more to see if she gives little hints to things too.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I don't want to give away the last couple lines, but I'm glad Koko's friend returned in the end.

What’s not to love

Personal drama, birds, and the unpredictable Coco! So interesting to see the interplay between the main characters. No nuclear drama - just stories about imaginary friends /people/ felines !
