    "twisted sister"

Phryne's sister is making her presence known ,and the very cool clam and collected Mr Lin Chung ,is playing peace maker between his family and the whoo's ,personally I could have lived with out this ,the slow pace of the elderly Chinese foke was starting to erk me.I never mind the appearance of the lovely Mr Lin but I just found myself wishing the tale would get back to our heroin .Stephine Daniels is never disappointing but having said this if this your first book in the sires your thinking of buying I would start closer to the beginning.

    "Miss Fisher Triumphs Again"

Absolutely love this series and its characters. Greenwood captures your attention with descriptions that make you feel like you are present in each scene. Twists and turns, lust and romance, steadfast friendships are the icing on the cake for each novel in the Miss Fisher series. Enjoy!

    "Excellent Narration"

Stephanie Daniel is excellent! She does multiple voices and accents easily. I'm addicted to the Phryne series - books and TV show. Lots of fun, mystery, and woman power!

"I wished I liked it better"
What did you like best about The Castlemaine Murders? What did you like least?

I loved the Phryne sections, but the Chinese sections seemed too disjointed and were a distraction. It was like reading two books at once and it didn't work for me. I eventually started fast forwarding through the Lin Chung sections because they became less and less interesting as the book went on.

Would you ever listen to anything by Kerry Greenwood again?

    Absolutely.

Do you think The Castlemaine Murders needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    No thank you.

I just love these characters and the feminist viewpoint of the author. So well written with a great vocabulary.

    "Priest"

I enjoy the story for the most part, but tired of the bed humping now she's involved with a married man. even if it's cultural for him. and miss.fisher has the wife make her gardens. really.

"A good Phyrne story, but gets bogged down w side story"

As with most of the Phryne Fisher stories, there are two main stories that end up converging. One involves a mummified body that Phryne is trying to sort out the origins of while fending off the usual warnings and threats to her life and household while she wades through the clues, and the second involves an old family feud between Lin Chung's family and another Chinese family. The former story is compelling; I found the latter story less so, and unfortunately Ms. Greenwood chose to make Lin's story take the lion's share of the book. It just didn't keep me as involved in the story as Phyrne's adventures usually do. I felt the spark was missing from much of this story. Stephanie Daniel's narration is great, as usual, but not certain I'll be returning to listen to this again many times. Just not my cup of tea. Typical nice scenes though with Phyrne's household members sprinkled throughout - just not enough of those scenes.
